“Odissea” premieres at Teatros del Canal on October 14 and 15, a poetic journey through movement, image and dance

Canal Theaters celebrate the premiere of odysseya choreographic creation at the hands of María Rovira and Create Dance Company. A poetic journey through movement, image and dance. The music has been provided by Eduardo Iniesta. It is under the seal of Canal Creation and is an emotional reflection of current life. The international choreographer María Rovira and Crea Dance Company celebrate on October 14 at Teatros del Canal the premiere of odysseywhich wants to take the viewer on a poetic journey through movement and image, through the bodies and expression of the dancers.

with music from Eduardo Iniesta, odyssey is an emotional photograph of modern life, which reflects on what has happened in recent years in our society: “modern” wars and their migratory consequences, the virtual world and the essence of life that escapes us. The play is a co-production between Teatros del Canal with the Creation Canal label and the Mercat de les Flors.

In this fast-paced journey, the viewer travels along a vital path that moves him, thanks to an imaginative, vibrant and tremendous choreographic style, an exciting, epic, unique and emotional musical composition and a chiaroscuro visual with passages of peak beauty.

The work, which is exhibited in the Green Room of Teatros del Canal, consists of nine scenes, symbolizing a complete life journeya cyclical journey that begins again, victory, triumph, new opportunities, hope and wisdom.

Maria Rovira is the artistic director of the Crea Dance Foundation. He founded the Tráfic Dansa company in 1985 in Mataró and received the National Dance Award in 1998.

With an unparalleled professional career, She is a choreographer for numerous international companies such as the Hispanic Ballet of New York or the National Ballet of Cuba, among many others.

In 2017 he launched the Crea Dance Company with the premiere of Los Ballets de Maria Rovira in Cuba at the Barcelona Greek Festival. Also the Carmina Burana and Mozart’s Requiem, which received the Butaca 2020 award.

In 2018 he enters the world of cinema and choreography with Yuli, directed by Icíar Bollaín about the life of the Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, for whom Maria Rovira has created several shows.

Eduardo Iniesta, a musician with a wide artistic reputation, is musicality and virtuosity, music in its broadest sense. Likewise, he is specialized in double stringed instruments, consolidating his musical career as a musician, interpreter and refined composer.

His music is a synthesis of his influenceswith which he has come this year to celebrate his 25 years on stage.
