The prosecco of cloistered nuns was born, inaugurated with Zaia

“Passion, competence and… spirituality. These are the ingredients of the extraordinary project of the Cistercian nuns of Monastery of Saints Gervasio and Protasiofrom Vittorio Veneto: in their cloistered convent they have started producing excellent prosecco!
They did so to continue the traditional vocation of wine production in so many places of spirituality, but also to actively support the economy of the monastery. The project was launched by Sarah Dei Tos, who found the enthusiastic support of the nuns, led by Mother Alin”. With these words, the governor Zaia recounted the baptism of this special wine

On Friday 9 December, the new label signed by La Vigna di Sarah was presented to the public for the first time: “Prosecco Superiore DOCG di Abbazia”. For the occasion there will be the authoritative presence of the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia.
The chosen location is the beautiful Cistercian Monastery of Saints Gervasio and Protasio in Piazza Fiume 64 in Vittorio Veneto, which with the Mother Abbess Aline Pereira, will open its doors to the public who will finally be able to taste this new product, announced at the Night Harvest “Grappoli di Luna ” of La Vigna di Sarah on 9 September 2022, an event in which the Monastery was awarded the “ORGANIC SARAH VINEYARD FOR HEROIC AGRICULTURE” award.
Choosing this location for the event is another opportunity to celebrate such an important sacred place, full of culture and mystery and of great historical importance, a precious and unique place, a symbol of sustainability and biodiversity, inserted in the Conegliano area Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg, not surprisingly a UNESCO World Heritage Site; a territory where the cultural, historical/artistic and religious heritage creates a perfect union with the history of the people who live there, among whom there are also good winemakers such as Sarah dei Tos, the founder of La Vigna di Sarah.
This label was born thanks to the collaboration between the Cistercian Monastery of Saints Gervasio and Protasio and Sarah dei Tos, who strongly believes in the enhancement and protection of the resources of their territory, both for an ethical choice and for a form of respect for the health of the consumer, who can taste a high quality product.
Prosecco Superiore DOCG di Abbazia is a Prosecco DOCG Brut to drink on all occasions, during meals with tempting fish first or second courses, but also during an aperitif; a versatile wine that can satisfy different palates.
“For me it is always a strong emotion when a new label is born – comments Sarah Dei Tos – Especially today, with Mother Abbadessa and the beautiful Monastery as a backdrop, I am proud and happy to finally be able to present the fruit of this precious collaboration to the public , with which I wanted to celebrate this important sacred place, but even more to add a “dowel” to the work I’m doing which has the objective of arriving at an agriculture that is ever more attentive to respect for the environment and the territory in terms of sustainable.”
