Closing of a great weekend: The “Book Fair” was held in Plaza 25 de Mayo

As anticipated in this medium, the “Celebremos Rafaela” agenda experienced another day of intense activity this Sunday, where a crowd accompanied the development of the Book Fair, the Plaza Feria and different musical shows in the center of the city .
The Book Week Fair Space took place in front of the Municipal Historical Museum, with the participation of 19 stallholders belonging to bookstores, publishers, civil organizations, cultural centers and universities.
In the different stands it was possible to access publications of authors of local, provincial, national and universal literature, of different genres and formats. Where people most targeted was the drawers of used books, with affordable prices and combos to take advantage of. In addition, there was also a variety for children and adolescents, such as comics, illustrations, fantasy books, among others. It is to highlight the participation of the solidarity enterprise, “Libros Adapa”, (Action for Animal Defense and Environmental Protection). This is a store that offers used books in excellent condition and at low prices. Among its offers you can find novels, stories, essays, books of poetry, art, psychology and spirituality. The proceeds go to nurseries for street animals, which were abandoned or mistreated and to meet the costs of veterinary care. With the purchases, they gave away a bookmark with a phrase to reflect on: “Adopt. Give a rescued puppy the opportunity to have a family.”
Also present were: Faber Libros, Blanco Mate Libros, “Lermo Rafael Balbi” Municipal Public Library, JM Estrada Library, Dos Remos Música, Dos Agujas Publishing House, Rafaelino Agrupados Writers, Rafaela Municipal Publishing Fund, La Ola Editorial, Espacio Cultural Chalk and Karbón, National University of Rafaela, National University of the Litoral, and many more.
The community took the opportunity to purchase books with discounts or promotions. Some read the back covers or synopses, prologues, in search of knowing what to buy according to their interests. The children were dazzled by the covers full of eye-catching drawings and illustrations. The walk was more than significant and innovative for those who came to the center, with the intention of enjoying a pleasant sunny afternoon and spring weather.
This fair is an activity belonging to the 2022 programming of Book Week, which thus crowned a successful closing and joined the proposals of “Celebremos Rafaela”, along with the traditional walk offered by Plaza Feria in Plaza 25 de Mayo.
The Secretary of Education, Mariana Andereggen, highlighted the accompaniment received by stallholders and the general public. “We are very happy to add this meeting with books, publishers, writers and writers to a popular celebration in the center of the city. It was a party for the whole family and a magnificent closing for our Book Week”, she maintained.
On the mobile stage located in the place, it was possible to enjoy a grid of shows by Surcos, Mauro Pasano and La Classi-k, who displayed their repertoires of popular music, folklore and cumbia. In addition, the public was able to visit the exhibition “Roberto ‘el Negro’ Fontanarrosa. Classified Files”, which is exhibited in the Municipal Historical Museum and will remain on display until October 31.
Regarding this great weekend, the Secretary of Culture, Claudio Stepffer, stated: “It was an intense weekend, which filled us with satisfaction: seeing so many people gathered enjoying our public spaces, sharing music, gastronomy, crafts, books, in short, sharing culture, tells us about the best we have: our people, their creative potential, their desire to participate”.
“We come from a September in which retirees were protagonists with La Perinola; we had an edition of Sale Primavera that exploded with people, youth and very good vibes: the response of the people motivates us to continue working to consolidate Rafaela as a city of events”, said the official.
“And there is a long way to go to celebrate the 141 years of the city: the exhibition on Roberto Formento, in the Cultural Complex of the Old Market; the AJÁ exhibition at the Museum of Arts, among several other meeting opportunities, until October 24, ”he listed.
After a spectacular start, the next event will be on Thursday with the presentation of the official shirt of the 12th Half Marathon of the city of Rafaela “Daniel Tecla Farías”. It will take place at 10:00, in room IV CCVM (Sarmiento 544).
