Between joy and spirituality, “The Christmas Gospel” returns with The Washington Gospel Singers

After the success of the first two concerts of the season which saw protagonists Paul Fresu and theItalian Saxophone Quartet with the Polyphonic Choir of the city of Tolentino in Glimmers of Peaceat Christmas the theater reopens its doors for a spectacular concert gospel. The concert is part of the concert season promoted by the Municipality of Senigallia and the LeMuse Association, which takes place with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Marche Region.


The pieces proposed by the American musicians have their roots in the good news of the Gospel, enriched according to the Gospel tradition with the addition of rhythmic bases of the blues he was born in rhythm and blues, acquiring a unique atmosphere of spirituality and joy. The Washington Gospel Singers have been honored with the title of “dignitaries” in the United States and are considered one of the “Best Gospel Ensembles” in the Washington DC region. The musical style and performance of Perfect Gospel Singers take the audience on an unforgettable journey. The Washington Gospel Singers have collaborated with Grammy Award winning artists such as Richard Smallwood, Donald Lawrence, Marvin Sapp, Ce Ce Winnans and many more. Lamont Shelton is the group leader, choir director and backing vocalist. He sings from an early age; however, he didn’t discover his passion and his love for singing until high school, when he joined the gospel choir and musical theater program at Lake Clifton/Eastern High School. Later, he decided to attend Coppin State University and major in business, with a major in vocal music. Over the years Lamont has had the opportunity to sing in a myriad of choirs and ensembles, and has worked professionally as a background vocalist, also sharing the stage with major artists such as: Lecresia Campbell, Russell Delegation, Jeff Jacobs, Troy Sneed and Steve Lawrence. He is currently a member of Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he serves as director of Extraordinary Adorer Ministry under Bishop Reginald L. Kennedy and as personal assistant to Bishop Reginald L. Kennedy.
