A tale of love, struggle, search for truth and celebration of the female figure, is staged “Mohican”



It makes its national premiere on Saturday 8 October at the Leo Amici “Mohican” Theater, written and directed by Carlo Tedeschi, music by Emanuele Tedeschi, choreography by Gianluca Raponi and Matteo Mecozzi, with the Rdl Company and with more than 40 artists on stage, for over two hours of show.


A true story, about 120 years ago, between England and the United States, a tale of love, oppression, struggle and search for truth, to discover the spirituality of the American Indians. But also a great one homage to the female figureunderlining the spirit of self-denial, the strength and love of women, these aspects are even more to be highlighted and emphasized in the current period.

Mohican is the latest work by Carlo Tedeschi, a well-known Italian author and recorder, who has signed 25 theatrical performances in 40 years of his career, gaining wide acceptance from the public in Italy and abroad.


They play a fundamental role the music, made by Emanuele Tedeschi with a cinematic characterization, unique in the panorama of the Italian musical. Noteworthy in some musical inserts, the voice of the well-known singer Ekaterina Shelehova.
Special effects, rich sets and over 200 costumes
added to the artistic skills of the performers of the Rdl Company, complete the staging that continues in the tradition of the great productions of the Leo Amici Theater, as already seen in the past with “Pact of Light – for peace and human rights”, “Chiara di Dio “, etc.


“Mohican – original musical” debuts on 8 October, at 9.00 pm, at the Leo Amici Theater and then will be staged, again at the Leo Amici Theater every Sunday at 4.30 pm.

Plot


Based on a true story, “Mohican” tells of the conflicted love between Eliane and a young Indian from the Mohican tribe. It is the same soul of Eliane who tells it to the public, making them experience the salient moments, the dramas, the joys, the passion and the events of the oppression suffered by the native people of that area of ​​North America. A harmonious and complex interweaving that takes the viewer to the heart, making him participate in the great emotions that overwhelm the characters but also in the epic traditions and profound spirituality of the Mohican tribe. In the dramatic clash between different cultures, on the other hand, Mohican becomes the spokesperson for a new dialogue between different realities, in the name of a renewed humanity, capable of acceptance and integration. Eliane and Mohican, she of English origin and he of Indian origin, will thus give life to an exciting story full of twists.

2023 marks the centenary of the birth of Leo Amici that the Foundation (recognized and dedicated to him) will celebrate with a series of events that officially start on 7 October 2022 in Rimini and then continue in other Italian cities. The representation of the show “Mohican” is part of the calendar of celebrations and takes place in the theater named after Leo Amici (born in Allumiere in 1923 and lived in Civitavecchia in the 60s and 70s), which has distinguished itself nationally and internationally for concrete social actions and especially towards the needy and young people.
Precisely in favor of the latter he had founded in the mid-1980s the Ragazzi del Lago Company based in Monte Colombo di Rimini and where he, on the shores of a small natural lake, had designed a small country dedicated to the principles of peace, love and brotherhood. From here Amici had initiated important solidarity actions, carried out after his death, by numerous volunteers: from the missions in Africa to the rescue of the children of Chernobyl, assistance and hospitality for children following the conflict in the former Yugolasvia, Italian populations affected by the earthquake, up to the aid, today, to Ukrainian refugees and continuous concrete support with scholarships for young people entering the world of art and professions.




Carlo Tedeschi. Versatile artist appreciated in the contemporary Italian and international cultural scene. Man of culture, he is a writer, director, theatrical author, painter whose creative activity ranges in various fields, obtaining, over the years, wide recognition. His commitment to promoting the values ​​of peace and human rights has earned him the awards “Peace artist “ in 1991 and “Purse Award for Peace “ in 2009.

Man of profound spirituality which finds concrete expression in particular in the masterpieces of the Italian theatrical scene that receive public and critical success, such as “Chiara di Dio”, “Patto di Luce – for peace and human rights” (show used by schools for educational courses of respect for others other than oneself) and numerous original Italian musicals represented in major theaters, since 1986.

Man of social and humanitarian commitment: to young people he has turned all his energies witnessing and transmitting Beauty, including that of respect for Creation, Man, God. Over the years he meets thousands of children in schools, oratories, theaters, providing, in addition to training academies artistic, also keys to reading and understanding reality in order to be active protagonists of their lives with healthy principles and values ​​of sharing, peace, solidarity and respect for human dignity.
With the support of the Dare Association and through the Leo Amici Foundation (recognized body), Carlo Tedeschi has favored numerous actions in support of the populations of Kenya and Zambia and offered as many concrete aid to Lake Monte Colombo (Rimini), where it is based. the Foundation, to hundreds of children of Chernobyl, to minors in foster care in collaboration with local institutions, also creating the conditions to welcome, treat and assist hundreds of orphans and refugees during the Balkan war, and now, in the headquarters of the Foundation Leo Amici in Abruzzo, also welcoming and assisting refugees from Ukraine.




The Boys of the Lake Theater Company
It is made up of artists aged 18 to 25, all graduates in various artistic disciplines and who have reached high levels of professionalism. Quality performers, some of whom are also teachers of singing, modern dance, hip pop, classical dance, have to their credit the staging of numerous shows, in Italy and abroad, including the recent theatrical season which has obtained a wide public consensus by recording exciting sold out.




The Company is based at the Teatro Leo Amici in Rimini, where the rehearsals take place and where the continuous training of the artists also takes place, thanks to the method adopted for years by Carlo Tedeschi, author and director of over 25 shows also represented in this theater. Parallel to the academic training, it allows young people to try their hand at the stage almost immediately so that direct contact with the public is a stimulus but also a consolidation in the research of the technique. Alongside this, there is also a human and social path, aimed at the search for Beauty, values, civil coexistence and respect for the other, for friendship. Some of the young artists on stage come from families of artists already present in the first Rdl Company. A real passing of the baton, from generation to generation, in the name of art, beauty but also the search for fundamental human values ​​that find in the theater one of the highest means of representation.
