At Musica Civica the tribute to Bach and Pasolini: Iaia Forte and Valentino Corvino protagonists at the ‘Giordano’

The XIII edition of Civic Music continues on 9 October at 7 pm at the Teatro U. Giordano in Foggia with “Tra la carne e il cielo” the show-tribute simultaneously to PP Pasolini and JS Bach conceived by the violinist and conductor Valentino Corvino, who is also its interpreter in his double role together with the Sonora Corda Ensemble and the mezzo-soprano Giulia Beatini.

The Neapolitan actress Iaia Forte will be on stage in the role of narrator.

Memories, letters, poems and interviews by Pier Paolo Pasolini extracted from the Quaderni rossi, from Life through the letters, from Accattone’s screenplay to the interview granted to Furio Colombo a few hours before his death. Extraordinary pages whose common thread is precisely the reason why Pasolini loved Bach: the sometimes peaceful coexistence, sometimes fought, between earthly impulses and a very high spirituality. The readings intersect with all the pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach that Pasolini himself used as the soundtrack of his films; immortal masterpieces that continue to retain all their great evocative power. During the show, a selection of rare and precious photos taken from the sets of the films Teorema, Uccellacci e uccellini and Vangelo Secondo Matteo, three peaks of Pasolini’s cinematography, owned by the Cineteca di Bologna, is projected.

A show in which notes, words and images are perpetually poised “between the flesh and the sky”.
