Positano Sea, Sun and Culture: Tonight in Positano Kabir Bedi, the legendary interpreter of the Salgariano “Sandokan” will present his biography “Stories I have to tell you” (Mondadori) The appointment for all tigers is at 21:00 at the Blu Bar Lido L’Incanto. This meeting is part of the review “Positano Sea, Sun and Culture” by Enzo D’Elia. The shorts by Luigi De Rosa.

Special guest, Kabir Bedi author of Stories I have to tell youand (Mondadori) who together with Antonio Monda he will retrace the stages of his career as an international star, but also the tragedies that have struck him, the great tormented loves, the often bitter taste of success.

It is rare to read such a sincere autobiography. Kabir Bedi, the unforgettable Sandokan, has laid bare his soul, recounting in this book a global success, which brought him from Bollywood to Hollywood via Italy. Because it is in our country that it all began, when the director Sergio Sollima chose him for the role of Sandokan in the miniseries dedicated to the character of Emilio Salgari, who with its 27 million viewers remains one of the most viewed in the history of television Italian.
It was 1976, and after Italy Kabir conquered Europe, then Hollywood, which cast him as the antagonist of James Bond in Octopussy – Operation octopus.
The shy but courageous young journalist who in Delhi succeeded in the impossible feat of interviewing the Beatles, in a few years had become a star all over the world. But behind this dazzling facade was a man of integrity, who tried to reconcile his values, his spirituality and his affections with his own ambitions and with the often cynical laws of the star system.
My life“Writes Kabir”it was a roller coaster of emotions.

Many important women in his life, from the indomitable first wife Protima to the great love Parveen Babi, a beautiful and tormented actress, to the current wife Parveen Dusanj, the safe landing place after a tumultuous life.
Many pains, above all the loss of his beloved son Siddharth (narrated with heartbreaking sincerity in the sixth chapter of the book) and the distance of his mother Freda, who became a Buddhist nun when he was very young.
The best moments in Kabir’s life are perhaps those that Italy gave him. And one of the funniest chapters of the book is dedicated to his encounters in Rome: with Federico Fellini, who even at the height of his fame tells him that he cannot find producers to finance his films, or with Gina Lollobrigida, due to a regrettable “diplomatic incident. ”With then-girlfriend Parveen Babi.

Wednesday July 6 (9pm – Blu Bar – Lido L’Incanto) during an evening with the theme “The time of history “, Maurizio de Giovanniauthor de The Equation of the Heart (Mondadori) will enter the pages of one of the stories he has always dreamed of telling, through a character, tormented and wonderfully human, placed before the mystery of the heart.
