And for his lawyer Me Khadija Aoudia, the accusations cannot stand: even if the complainants were under the influence, there is no intentional element.

I speak in terms of common sense, can he imagine that she is not consenting to this sexual intercourse? One element is missing, the awareness of the person who has a sexual intercourse with a woman who has requested it” she tells us. “And I’m not going to get into the high-profile cases of powerful people who are accused by around 30 women and who to this day have still not been heard.”
But for Me Jean-Baptiste Cesbron, the lawyer for the civil parties, the community set up by Cyrille Adam, in the form of initiations and internships between the Cévennes and the Château de Granès, in the Tarn-et-Garonne, comes under a sectarian and control mechanism.
“They were put in a situation where they couldn’t say no”
“The word of the civil parties has been heard. The submission is linked to their situation of abuse of weakness: they were placed in a situation where they could not say no” reacts the lawyer. And the videos? “They never consented to a sexual relationship with Cyrille Adam as he conceived it. He offered a tantric work, through which, for them, it was a form of exploration not of their sexuality but of their spirituality. In this context, they found themselves in a situation of proximity with Adam and he abused this situation of intimacy to abuse his authority and his power and impose sexual relations on them”.
Those close to the guru, they, annoyed, speak of “witch hunts”. The lawyer Me Aouadia intends for her part to appeal in cassation.
