If she is a resident of the region, the name of the artist, Veronika Ljubisic, however evokes an origin that goes beyond the borders of France. She brings back an experience and a view of life that never ceases to amaze and will allow visitors to the Imperial Cultural Center of Montmirail to discover what amazing talent. She is in line with all those who never cease to celebrate women in all their splendour. But Veronica, it is much more than that. She has the talent to make everything colorful. It is not something learned, but rather a look that she has had on the world since her earliest childhood. As far back as she can remember, she has always been drawn to art.

As a child, she was fascinated by these street painters who come for a few hours to show off their talent. The then child already had his eyes filled with color and admired those who used it to color the world. She could have stayed for hours looking at them and coming home, she rushed to the box of colored pencils to write down so many new ideas. She filled pages and even those of her notebooks. “I always had my head in the stars,” she confesses with a beautiful smile.

Pencil before daring to paint

“I drew in pencil for a very long time before I dared to touch the brushes. It happened 10 years ago when I was given a watercolor kit for Christmas. It was a real revelation. This kit has opened up new horizons. Suddenly, she wanted to try everything, watercolor and also acrylic and oil painting. His favorite theme: the woman with this mixture of spirituality and strength.

Before making painting her profession, Veronika started out in a rather traditional way in the industry. Painting is then a hobby that occupies a huge place in her life and she tries to improve herself every day as an autodidact. But she works like millions of others. For her, it was a life in the industry with digital printing. But each day the air was missing more and more and slowly she felt this suffocation. One day she makes the big decision: she leaves the paths of job security and throws herself headlong into what is a hobby, a passion, HER passion, the one that has always devoured her.

However, she enrolled for training at the Blot school in Reims to deepen her knowledge and mastery of techniques. There, she learns the basics of decor and trompe-l’oeil, which will be her job from now on.

She will need determination and she does not lack it and she goes there with the heart. She ends up valedictorian, she who said she was a bad student when she was a child. But above all, she realized that she had just entered a world that would change her life forever. It would never be the same again.

Confinement, time of creation

When confinement comes to put everything on hold, at Veronika, it’s just the opposite, it’s activity like never before. She creates without being able to stop. She gives free rein to her imagination, her feelings of the moment, she frees herself.

She paints women, but one can observe that her vision of women is one that burns within itself. The strong, spiritual, powerful woman. Then she slips into the animal kingdom without transition and indulges in a few portraits of wild animals.

Today Veronika is a fulfilled woman. She created the Veronika workshops and works as much in her studio as on the facades of houses creating breathtaking frescoes.
