“Imagine the future”

From Thursday 29 September to Saturday 1 October, four events will take place between Santa Marta and Valeggio sul Mincio

The future is the theme around which the four appointments organized as part of the new edition of the “Summer School of Philosophy” of the Department of Human Sciences will develop, which will start on Thursday 29 September, at 2.30 pm, at the University of Santa Marta, and will end on Saturday 1 October in Valeggio sul Mincio, in the spirituality house “Mater Divinae Sapientiae”. The meetings are dedicated to female students of the city and provincial high schools to take stock of future challenges in the philosophical field, led by the university teachers.

The fourth edition of the Summer School of Philosophywith the event, was organized by the University of Verona and constitutes a further important step in the shared planning of initiatives between the Department of Human Sciences and some city and provincial institutes.

For the occasion, a program of interventions entitled “Imagine the future” which intertwines some lemmas of contemporary philosophy – horizons, knowledge, democracy, becoming – about which we will discuss with various experts from the fields of technology, jurisprudence, biology and psychiatry with the aim of imagining the future starting from a sharing conceptual. The School has a residential character. So, after the welcome greetings and the presentation at the university, we will move to Fontanafredda di Valeggio sul Mincio, where the School will take place. The project has its fulcrum in the sharing of entire days in which philosophy ceases to be a discipline and becomes a living experience again. For this reason they will be combined with the lessons of real discussion workshops, in which female students and students will be actively involved. The school’s goal is to raise awareness that today the educational value of philosophy passes from the ability to learn how to ask questions.

Thursday 29 September, at 14.30 in the classroom Smt 06 of the Polo Santa Marta, the scientific director will intervene Gianluca Sollaprofessor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Verona and the coordinator Alessandra Pantano, professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Verona, who will present the project built with enthusiasm together with the collaboration of a network of high schools in Verona that has become increasingly numerous over the years. To follow, the first meeting “Horizons” at 15.30 edited by Riccardo PanattoniProfessor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Verona e Roberto GiacobazziProfessor of Computer Science at the University of Verona.
Friday 30th Septemberafter the bus transfer from the Central Parking Bus Terminal at 8 am, they will take place at the house of spirituality “Mater Divinae Sapientiae” of Fontanafredda of Valeggio sul Mincio two meetings: at 9 “Knowledge” with Massimiliano BadinoProfessor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Verona e David Bolzonella, professor of chemical plants at the University of Verona; at 17 Olivia GuaraldoProfessor of Political Philosophy at the University of Verona e Matteo NicoliniProfessor of Comparative Public Law at the University of Verona will present “Democracy”.
Saturday 1st October the last meeting “Become” will see the participation of Gianluca Solla and the psychiatrist Michela Nosè.
