VIESTE

After the three days in Mattinata in the name of music, spirituality and the discovery of suggestive places rich in history, FestambienteSud lands in Vieste. From 1 to 4 August the capital of Apulian tourism will embrace universal sound, with national and international guests called together by the artistic director Chiara Civello. The four event evenings will be staged in Marina Piccola.
It starts on Monday 1st August at 9.00 pm with the singer, pianist and composer Frida Bollani Magoni, daughter of the pianist Stefano Bollani and the singer Petra Magoni. She has always been immersed in the world of sounds and music, she began to regularly study classical piano at the age of 7 under the guidance of maestro Paolo Razzuoli, who taught her musical notation in Braille. Today, not yet 18 years old, she has released her debut album entitled “Primo Tour” and she is establishing herself among the most mature and surprising pianists on the international scene.
Following, Alabaster DePlume (stage name of Gus Fairbairn), saxophonist, composer and declaimer of verses written by himself sketching skits of contemporary life. His new album, “Gold – Go Forward in the Courage of Your Love”, released in April, is an intimate, almost confessional work, a hybrid between jazz and spoken word, in which the lyrics written by the transplanted Manchester musician and poet in London they mix with the fugues of his tenor sax. The album is the long-awaited sequel to the previous “To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals vol. 1 “, a record with a rather unique genesis that well reflects the aesthetics and the” political “scope of his artistic action: Alabaster DePlume was working for Ordinary Lifestyles, a charitable association in Manchester that helps people with disabilities to live a full life in the own home.
On Tuesday 2 August, Emma Nolde and Nada will be on the stage of FestambienteSud (again at 9.00 pm in Marina Piccola).

Mixed and mastered in analog in the bucolic context of Sudestudio, the eight tracks on the disc float slowly among the names of legends who have never stopped inspiring Populous: Midori Takada, Boards Of Canada, J Dilla and William Basinski.
