On the night of December 31, 2022, the Christian faithful of the EE-SIM Goudrin church in Ouagadougou sacrificed to tradition by celebrating the transition to the new year 2023. In adoration, praise, preaching and testimonies , they expressed their gratitude to God for all the benefits received from him during the year 2022. An opportunity also for them to pray for the return of peace to Faso and to entrust the new year to the Lord.
“What assessment do you make of your walk with the Lord in 2022? », this is the theme of the last message of the year 2022 developed by Pastor Bernard MOYENGA at the traditional end-of-year meeting of the EE-SIM Goudrin church in Ouagadougou. In his sermon based on the book of 2 Timothy 4, verse 7, Pastor Bernard recalled the rich journey of the apostle Paul who, at the end of his race, affirms: “I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith” testifying to a fulfilled and exceptionally fruitful life.
For the children of God that we are, it is important at the end of a year to take stock of our walk with God, that of our ministry, our projects, our relationships, in short, of all areas of our life. This assessment will allow us to correct ourselves if necessary, by making good resolutions at the start of the year. In other words, this balance sheet consists of a positive or negative balance of our actions on all levels of our life during the past year, said Pastor Bernard.
The Bible mentions several occasions where it is a question of balance sheet, starting with God himself who, at the end of the process of creation, made a balance sheet. “God considered all that he had created and found it very good”.
In Matthew 25, verse 14-15, the signer speaks of his return through the gifts and talents that each of his children received from him. He will establish at his coming, the balance sheet of each servant. What will he say about us? “Very well, good and faithful servant?” or “good-for-nothing servant?” “.
Before his hour of death, Jesus himself evaluated his work before his father in these terms in john 17, v4: “I glorified you on earth; I have finished the work you gave me to do”.
Doing his annual spiritual assessment will allow us to evaluate our love for our savior, underlined Pastor Bernard. Are we among those who, after evaluation, the lord on the throne will say: “but what I have against you is that you abandoned your first love?” », (Revelation 2:4) or like King Nebuchadnezzar who was deposed from his royal throne and his majesty removed after God had counted his reign? (Daniel 5:25).
At the end of 2022, what are the conclusions of your spiritual assessment? Has your walk with the Lord during the year 2022 contributed to the glory of God? concluded the servant of God.

As usual, the night of the crossing was an opportunity for the members of the church to express their gratitude to the Lord for the precious gifts (newborns) from which certain couples of the community benefited. Thus, eight (08) newborns received gifts which, for the president of the women of the church, Mrs LANKOANDE Agathe, constitute a “true subject of joy and expression of gratitude to God”.

After several edifying testimonies of the Lord’s graces during the past year, the titular pastor Daniel YONLI invited the faithful to prayer for the return of peace in Burkina Faso, which has been plagued by terrorist attacks since 2015; a pious request submitted to the evangelical churches by the new authorities of the country.
Pastor Daniel finally called on the evangelical community SIM of Goudrin to intercede with faith for the acquisition of land and means necessary for the expansion project of the church which continues to grow.
