The recent and still bloody russian invasionthe economic wars that cause hunger among the most vulnerable, armed conflicts and power struggles mean that our planet – a place full of life and diversity, where we should be able to live together in peace – is becoming a hostile land. «If we go to the nucleus of things –in the primitive depth– we will know that everything, the human being, comes from a thought, from a state of mind provoked by this thought. This is where the strength of music and the strength of symbols lie”, announces Miquel Àngel Bonnín, creator of the proposal. Concert for peace it wants to be a cry of hope, the light of a candle in the midst of darkness. «I want to create a show with music as the banner. A work that makes us reflect, that makes us meditate on the path that currently leads us towards an abyss, but I believe that all is not yet lost. I believe that these works together should be a door to spirituality”, Bonnín details.

The concert show begins with three songs from the collection saviesa roads, created on inspired phrases that characters like Mahatma Gandhi, Teresa of Calcutta or Martin L. King left us. These small sentences, loaded with wisdom, are the inspiration and texts of these pieces. the second work, UkraineIt’s a microsymphony. Its four movements make the spectator experiences in first person the horror of this war without sense. The fully descriptive music puts us in the shoes of the Ukrainian people. The first move, Ukraine, February 2022start with the sound reproduction of Putin’s speech announcing his “military operation”. Little by little, the notes of the orchestra mixed with the speech, make us live fear, uncertainty. Shots are heard in the distance. The alarms sound… The second movement, Exodus, narrates the long and agonizing departure from the country. People leave their homes and hit the road in the hope of finding a safe place. Overnight in Azovstal, as the third movement, describes an endless night, the cries of children, the muffled sounds of war, the radio frequencies are lost through the dark corridors of the buried power station. The fourth and last movement is titled: the devastated land. Ukraine calls for help. The landscape is already bleak, the cities are in ruins…

All this will be carried out by the orchestra, accompanied by two young Mallorcan talents. On the one hand, Lorraine Bonnin, who since its inception has shown unusual talent, with a very well-formed voice and great timbre richness, full of nuances.
