[Loisirs] What to do this weekend of October 28

Jam session, puppet and object theatre, big unpacking… A selection of good ideas for outings for the long weekend from October 28 to 31.

Jam night!

Singers, rappers, musicians… Every last Friday of the month, all “jammers” from Marseille and elsewhere are invited to take the Coco Velten stage! All on the terrace of the place opened in 2019, whose profits from the bar make it possible to perpetuate the economic model of the place opened in 2019 and welcoming people in integration, social and solidarity economy companies as well as a canteen.

On September 30, the City of Marseille recorded the purchase of the place by its lessor Marseille Habitat. For the beautiful days of Coco… olé!

In the intimacy of Yves Klein

Yves Klein, Monochrome bleu, (IKB 22), 1957 pierced by fire (nd), pure pigment and synthetic resin on burnt paper, 23.5 x 18 cm, private collection © Succession Yves Klein c/o ADAGP, Paris, 2022

From Friday, October 28, the Hôtel de Caumont is dedicating an exhibition to the Nice artist and bringing his work into dialogue with his personal life. Leaving behind him a legacy as important as his dazzling career, not without criticism among his contemporaries – Yves Klein is definitely one of the essential artists of the second half of the 20th century. Not only for having created and patented his own color (Klein’s blue) – which, moreover, has never been marketed or revealed – but also for being a precursor of artistic performance. His famous Anthropometrieswhere nude models smear paint on themselves and print their bodies on sheets of paper, is considered a precedent and has caused much ink to flow.

In Aix-en-Provence, the visitor is invited to interfere between the artist’s works in the personal and spiritual dimensions of the artist. The sixty works presented allow us to dive into his family origins, his circle of friends, his relationships with his models or even his working conditions. To discover without waiting !

In company with the puppets!

The En ribambelle festival returns for the All Saints holidays and takes place at the Mucem for a few shows. From the Fables of the fountains to Shakespeare’s Macbeth, from children’s literature to comics, puppets and object theater are summoned for the pleasure of the youngest to the oldest.

From lullabies to Scottish bagpipes… this Saturday 29 October, Shakespeare’s entire work is revisited through a set of actors, objects and music for a playful, poetic and musical show. For babies and families.

Then, on Monday, an Ocean of Love is offered. A raging ocean, a fisherman caught himself, Bigoudènes and many seagulls. A theater of objects and a world of paper where the imagination floats along with a silent and offbeat story.

Baby Macbeth – Saturday October 29 3pm/5pm – Sunday October 30 3pm/5pm
An Ocean of Love – Monday October 31 3/5pm
