Prevent your silence from becoming an accomplice

The pastoral letter published by the Dominican bishops on January 21 comments on another letter: the Apostolic Patris Corde from Pope Francis, who attributes to Saint Joseph powers that are not established in the Holy Scriptures.

The Dominican bishops reported that 150 years ago Saint Joseph was proclaimed Patron of the Universal Church. If that was established like this, who was responsible for that function before?

They forget that the Holy Scriptures establish Jesus Christ as the sole founder, guide, owner, lord, protector and head of the Universal Church.

They also revealed that Pope Francis invited them to direct their gaze to Saint Joseph and not to Jesus Christ, who is the one the Bible recognizes as “the author and finisher of faith, who for the joy set before him suffered the cross, despised reproach and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

Likewise, the Dominican bishops report that Pope Francis qualifies Saint Joseph as an “effective intercessor.”

However, who the Bible bears witness to is the Man Christ Jesus and affirms that he is an intercessor between God and men, since only he gave himself to rescue us from sin (1Timothy 2:5-6).

The Dominican bishops also pointed out that various currents of spirituality have emerged within the Catholic Church, inspired by Saint Joseph, but in this way the perennial, vital and divine virtue of the Gospel cannot circulate “in the veins of current humanity.” proclaimed by the Second Vatican Council.

True spirituality and the “streams of living water” are not inspired or made to sprout by Saint Joseph. That is done by the Holy Spirit (John 7:38)

In the same way, “a new evangelization in its ardor, in its methods and in its expression” is promoted through “Saint Joseph, the silent teacher, who fascinates, attracts and teaches with the resplendent testimony of his virtues and his firm simplicity”.

It is a theology devoid of the direction, instruction, teaching and revelation of the Holy Spirit, which does not take into account what the Lord says: I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, this one bears much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

They also maintain that “The Son of God was in the school of his father Joseph and in his shadow the child Jesus grew “in wisdom, in stature, and in favor before God and men” (Lk 2.52).

The wisdom that Jesus showed during his earthly life was received from the Holy Spirit and that is why he was interested in the business of his Heavenly Father and not in the carpentry workshop that Joseph had.

The wisdom, spiritual stature and grace that Jesus showed before God and men was received from on high. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize that what is born of the Spirit is the most important thing (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Another proclamation that the Dominican bishops made on January 21 is that “the same thing that Joseph did with Jesus, he will do with us: he will teach us to transmit the Christian faith faithfully to the following generations.”

It is enough to read Ecclesiastes 9: 5-6 to realize that “those who live know that they have to die, but the dead know nothing, nor do they have more pay, because their memory, their love, their hatred and their envy perished and were put into forgotten and will never again have a part in everything that is done under the sun.”

For this reason, it should not be affirmed that “Joseph will take care of and teach to transmit the Christian faith faithfully to the following generations”. More than 2,000 years ago he died. Therefore, he cannot participate in the evangelization of the world.

That task must be carried out by the people who repent of our sins and receive the Holy Spirit, because the dead cannot win souls for Christ (Acts1:8).

In the same way, the Dominican bishops maintain that José “continues to be the faithful protector of the Church, of the Christian family and a model of life for singles and married and for this reason fixing our gaze and retaking the figure of Saint Joseph is transcendental”.

Finally, the Dominican bishops complained that “the Scriptures and the Early Church say little about Joseph and that the fact that the evangelists do not review any of his words does not mean that he plays a secondary role in the work of Jesus.” the Salvation”.

And for this reason, Pope Francis and the Dominican bishops understand that it is necessary to expand the “little” that the Scriptures and the Primitive Church say about Joseph, a claim that clashes head-on with the warning that Revelation 22:18-19 makes: “I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book. If anyone adds to these things, God will bring upon him the plagues that are written in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the book of life and from the holy city and from the things that are written in this book.

We are facing a theology that claims to establish a new Trinity. He wants to replace the interception of the Holy Spirit with the one he attributes to the Virgin Mary. To the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for the protection of Saint Joseph and they want to make the Son of God dependent on a father and mother who were earthly.

Don’t look for another leg for the cat. Obey what the Holy Scriptures teach.

The Christian Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ must not remain indifferent in the face of the winds of apostate doctrines that are currently blowing. It must keep Jesus Christ as its founder, guide, owner, lord and protector so that it continues to be light and salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13-16)

Church of the Lord, raise your voice of protest against those who misrepresent the truth of the Gospel and prevent your silence from becoming an accomplice.
