Enhance the region’s territory through events, festivals and the rediscovery of historic trails. The final ranking of entertainment operators and public bodies who will receive the contributions allocated by two tenders of the Lazio Region to support cultural enhancement projects has been published. In all, it is a question of over 913 thousand euros destined for 35 projects, aimed at enhancing the cultural heritage and the territory through music, dance and theatre.
How the financing works
Of the 913,000 invested, of these, 559,000 euros are assigned to public bodies, approximately 300,000 to associations, 54,000 to companies operating in the sector. Funded projects may benefit from a grant covering up to 80% of eligible costs. For projects presented in associated form, the contribution ranges from 30 to 70 thousand euros, while for those presented individually between 10 thousand and 30 thousand euros. Important contributions especially for a sector, tourism and hospitality, which has suffered more than others due to covid. Also for this, the Region has published a notice to finance Christmas eventsin particular initiatives related to cinema, theater and social issues.
Listed projects
Requests to participate in the tender have arrived from practically all over the region. However, the initiatives linked to the spiritualistic paths dominated, i.e. those paths that, every year, are crossed by many pilgrims who retrace the footsteps of important religious figures. There is, for example, the municipality of Poggio Moiano with the new edition of “Sentieri in Cammino”, an event that enhances the cultural heritage scattered along the spiritual paths and historic homes of the upper Sabina and the “oil valley” .
Among the paths of spirituality is “Radure: Cultural spaces along the Via Francigena del Sud 2022”, the festival to enhance the territorial system of the Lepini Mountains dedicated to the places crossed by the spiritual journey of the Via Francigena del Sud, which takes place in the municipalities of Sermoneta, Segni, Maenza, Cori, Norma and Priverno.
There is also the municipality of Torricella in Sabina, for the promotion of the Way of Francis and Benedict. A journey of about 19 km that alternates stretches of asphalt with secondary roads. You reach the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the medieval city of Rieti, passing through Ornaro Basso and the beautiful valleys of the Rieti area.
