A festival that combines science and music, social solidarity and culture, art and spirituality, anthropology and medicine. An event that looks in the perspective of preventive education to the future of the new generations, starting from the lessons of the past. It is no coincidence that the festival that kicks off in Naples tomorrow, Sunday 9 October in the Sala del Lazzaretto of the former Hospital of Peace, is entitled “A sea of ​​health …”, thus inaugurating the First National Day of Italian Historic Hospitals of the ACOSI network (Association cultural historic Italian hospitals), which intends to make the general public aware of the reality of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of the country’s ancient hospitals (libraries, museums, collections, churches) with promotional and educational projects. Naples, in this, has always been a city of primates: you will be able to get an idea of ​​it in the morning, on the occasion of the guided tours provided by the program (from 10 to 14) among the treasures of the Museum of Health Arts and History of Medicine in the Ospedale degli Incurabili, promoter of the Festival with the Museo Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice, but also at the Sala del Lazzaretto in the former Santa Maria della Pace Hospital and at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital Complex, in an itinerary to discover places in the center ancient of Naples where faith, art and health have traveled hand in hand over the centuries. On the afternoon of October 9, at 5 pm, the official inauguration of the festival: the scientific director of the Sanitary Arts Museum will open the works at 5 pm in the Sala del Lazzaretto of the Hospital of Peace, Gennaro Rispoli, with the presentation of the volume The splendor of care. Trip to the Italian Historical Hospitals by Acosi, and with the Major General Gabriele Lupini, of the National Inspectorate of the Italian Red Cross Military Corps. A sea of ​​health – explains Gennaro Rispoli, surgeon and humanist, passionate bibliophile and collector of medical history materials – it is in memory of Mia Filippone because she has always been at the forefront against the evil of indifference and disengagement, authentic epidemics of our time to be overcome, as she did, with passion, knowledge and solidarity.
