Concerts from the terraces – The musical and artistic events from the terraces of the buildings owned by the Perugia Foundation return to revive Christmas for the third consecutive year. Starting tomorrow, December 8, a series of events at surprise, some of which in collaboration with the Municipality of Perugia, will enliven the historic centers of Gubbio, Assisi and Perugia.

It begins on 8 December with the Concerts from the terraces: at 12 in Palazzo Baldeschi in Perugia, at 4 in Palazzo Bonacquisti in Assisi and at 6 in the Logge di Gubbio.

The initiative was born in the period of the health emergency for Covid. On this occasion, the Perugia Foundation and the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Perugia shared the idea of ​​giving the capital concerts from the terrace of Palazzo Baldeschi and other activities in the historic center with the utmost respect for safety and distancing. The experience was then extended to also involve Gubbio, which will host the initiatives between the Logge, Piazza San Giovanni and Assisi in the beautiful and evocative Palazzo Bonacquisti.

To animate the palaces there will be a Perugia Little Blue Slim & Mrs Slim, in Assisi Luli Tunes Acoustic Duo and in Gubbio Funkuantobasta and Christmas in Jazz thanks to the collaboration with Land. Other concerts will be organized by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Perugia and by the Perugia in Centro Consortium

Fondazione Perugia also recalls all the artistic and cultural activities that will continue throughout the Christmas period.

From music to art exhibitions to the traditional artistic nativity scene

The Exhibition at Palazzo Baldeschi, corso Vannucci, Perugia “Al tempo di Canova. An Umbrian itinerary” an exhibition with over one hundred works, with 35 scholars involved from various Italian universities, and focused on the nucleus of Canova’s plaster casts conserved at the MUSA. The organization of extraordinary private museum visits behind closed doors is also envisaged.

Again in Perugia, as in past years, from 8 December it is once again possible to admire the traditional Artistic crib set up on the ground floor of Graziani Palace, headquarters of the Foundation, which opens with a window on Corso Vannucci. Visitors who will reach the historic center will thus be able to see the exhibition – curated by the architect Giuseppe Fioroni in collaboration with some students of the ‘Pietro Vannucci’ Academy of Fine Arts – which has given new life to characters and landscapes by reconstructing a scenario of extraordinary beauty and spirituality.”


TO Bonacquisti Palace in Assisi the exhibition is still open “The face of St. Francis in the Counter-Reformation”, an exhibition space dedicated to the iconography of St. Francis where the works of Franciscan subjects created between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries belonging to the Perugia Foundation collection previously exhibited in the Museum of Palazzo Baldeschi in Perugia have been placed.


The The exhibition itinerary was also organized in view of the initiatives that the Foundation intends to promote on the occasion of the celebrations of the eighth centenary of the death of St. Francis which will be held in 2026.
