The enigma of d’Annunzio and then Rol and Licio Gelli….

On May 5, Laura Curtale’s book comes out with an unpublished letter from the Vate to a medium: from the interview that the writer and TV presenter granted to CulturaIdenzia, in addition to the surprise of a secret and “esoteric” d’Annunzio, a unpublished portrait of Licio Gelli, in whose Villa in Arezzo Laura Curtale was a guest, where she had the opportunity to discover the love of “Venerable teacher”for literature and poetry during the walks in his company in the garden of the Villa and along that swimming pool built especially for his beloved daughter who died in a car accident….

Already from the first exchange with Laura Curtale, Roman, graduate in Italian Philology, teacher, author and curator of programs and cultural spaces, she captures the play of references, symbols, coincidences that, after a century, still penetrate the mystery of the Infinite that already haunted Gabriele d’Annunzio. Laura Curtale publishes for Ianieri The enigma of Annunzio, a volume made up of “curious concordances and omens, signs and warnings”. The theme on the great Vate d’Abruzzo goes beyond curiosity and esoteric intrigue. Curtale makes us understand that the tension to go further belongs to her too; the desire to connect between heaven and earth, between visible and invisible. The enigma of Annunzio is the story of Gabriele d’Annunzio freemason, fluctuating in his religious syncretism between sacred and profane, esoteric practices and pagan beliefs, devoted to Dante, Michelangelo, his spiritual fathers, to San Francesco, to San Bernardo di Chiaravalle.

How was this book born?

A few years ago I was conducting a broadcast on a local TV, the literary space of those days was dedicated to Gabriele d’Annunzio. I was contacted by a medium who told me that she had written a letter in a trance state, the letter was signed by the poet. From there I began to study Gabriele d’Annunzio historically and esoterically. It was my need to understand why the poet was so sad in expressing himself in that way, that’s why The enigma.

What are the mysteries?

Mysteries or enigmas that can lead the reader to reflect and think. For example, who dropped it from the window of the Vittoriale on 13 August 1922 in the famous Flight of the Archangel as the poet himself defined them? Two days later he would have met Nitti and Mussolini and who knows if the history of Italy would have gone in the direction we know, given that shortly thereafter there would have been the march on Rome.
The name, the ancients said, is an omen. D’Annunzio, of the Annunzio.

Gabriele Rapagnetta then d’Annunzio, from the name of his grandmother or rather the announcer, was loved, hated. Basically it is the existence of those who make their life “inimitable”, take it to the extreme in every field, live it in constant motion like an oxymoron between life and death. A fighting Archangel who, however, brings peace through actions and words, mediator between the parties; the Italian political parties, in this case. Read the book and you will understand why, I do not want to reveal anything to my Dear Reader.

Do you believe in the protective stars, in spirit-guiding figures?

I believe that in our existence we are never alone, the souls of the deceased can guide us by inspiring in the spirit and in the heart the right way to go. It is enough to listen to our soul and be ready to open up to the mystery, because humanity is a mystery, like the energy that governs living beings in the spirit.

You have dedicated yourself to the study of the paranormal by approaching the environments of Gustavo Rol. The great psychic read in closed books, painted from a distance, dematerialized objects also according to the testimony of his great friend Federico Fellini. What prodigy did you witness?

I am a very curious and not credulous person, so I need proofs, certainties and, when possible, I look for them. A friend of mine in Turin told me who lost an earring at Rol’s house while they were “experimenting”. Everyone helped her to look for that jewel that evening, but she was not found; it was an earring very dear to her because it was given to her by her husband. Back home, late at night, Rol phoned her at her house and told her to open a drawer of her furniture, her earring was there.

She was an attentive witness and guest of Licio Gelli, the “venerable master” of P2, at Villa Wanda in Arezzo

Liceo Gelli, to my surprise, followed my broadcast and was fascinated by my love for literature, so he decided to meet me and invite me to Villa Wanda where he was staying. Count Gelli deeply loved poetry. He wrote many books of poetry and asked me to evaluate his works. I went to see him several times. I met an intelligent, witty, but deeply grieved man. His pain shone through every speech he made, he talked to me about his daughter who died in a car accident, a pain that he carried in his heart and in his eyes. I was walking in the garden of his villa where there is a mosaic pool, I love to swim and Gelli told me that the pool was built for his daughter and that it was no longer accessible at the time because she was dead. He told me that he would have restored it with joy if I wanted to swim; I realized that hearing the sweet sound of water again when swimming was like reliving the feeling that her daughter was still alive. We know what history has told us about this man, well I did not know a monster, but a sensitive, human man, who in a painful moment of my life spoke to me and helped me as a good father can do with a daughter; my father had been dead for 10 years.

7-11-2011 (1922)

(…) I am the Archangel of the land of Italy, my flight over her is the flight of an Archangel whose weapon is the aircraft, the word and no longer the sword.

Help the cry of a Hero, help the children of Italy.

I am alone, the stars no longer speak to me, my hand closed in an iron fist, longing for revenge.

Listen to my tears, oh Italian people made of art, music, color, lock up the wicked and give Light to my Ark without weeping.

We must live and believe in the unity between brothers. (…)
