Provincial plenary session of the Party in the capital

Important elements related to the economy, the monitoring and participation of the different economic actors, education, the progress of the current school year and the preparations for the 2022-2023 stage occupied the attention of the Provincial Plenum of the Party in Havana.

With the presence of Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, first secretary of the Party in the capital, and Reinaldo García Zapata, Governor of the city, the meeting analyzed the results in the fulfillment of the actions of political assurance to the economic actorsincluding forms of non-state management (FGNE), aimed at achieving a true export vocation and import substitution, local development projects and production chains in the province and the role of the Party and the Government in the control and monitoring to these programs.

An audiovisual material showed some of the indicators related to exports of goods and services that develop different forms of non-state management. Speaking on this issue, the First Secretary of the Party in the capital called for the definitive creation of conditions so that all economic actors can take advantage of the policies that the country has adopted so that they can be better articulated, in the search for true linkages, to achieve effectiveness and efficiency, without giving up in the current circumstances.

Torres Iríbar highlighted the importance of political-ideological work and the need to apply with innovation the 43 measures aimed at boosting the economy, the 63 approved for the agricultural sector and others, with emphasis on state companies that, in smaller numbers than the private sector, account for 80% of the production of goods and services.

At the same time, He called for the socialist state company to shake, for it to change, to articulate itself, to think about doing bold things. At the same time, he considered that, as indicated by the Constitution of the Republic, all economic actors are in equal conditions and they must be given tasks, alerted to crime, not stigmatized or separated.

The Governor of Havana addressed the high responsibility of the Party and the Government to correctly implement the policieswhich should lead to the improvement of the business system and directed continuing to work in depth to give the attention that corresponds to non-state forms of management.

On the other hand, announced that a review process of Local Development Projects will begin in the province so that these truly contribute to local development and to the strategies adopted in the municipalities for the advancement of the territorial economy.

Likewise, the plenary session evaluated compliance with the PCC guidelines in the educational sector during the 2021-2022 school year and the preparation of the 2022-2023 school year.

In the analysis, the problems related to the quality of the classes, the completion of the directors in the schools, the preparation of the teachers of History and Civic Education, vocational training, preventive educational work, professional orientation came to light. , mostly concerns raised in meetings with students, professors, student, political, union and mass organizations.

Torres Iríbar reflected on the role of teachers in the training of the younger generations and stated that “if the teacher serves, the student serves, and if the principal serves, the school serves“.

Yohanier Sierra, president of the Provincial People’s Court of Havana, referred to the need to incorporate not only technical teachings into pre-professional practices, but also to instill values, respect for the law, and a culture of order, something very necessary today in society.

Ana Rosa Granda Esteban, first secretary of Youth in the capital, emphasized the priority of serving the students of the three pedagogical schools of the capital, contributing to their preparation with visits to museums, study centers, holding meetings with students, from the Federation of High School Students (FEEM), from the Enrique José Varona University of Pedagogical Sciences, as well as intentionally working to attract young people to teaching careers.

On the other hand, the First Secretary of the Party referred to the role of the socialist state company, the need to continue eliminating the obstacles that limit its efficiency and called for trust in them, since many are showing that they can operate in a different way. , effectively.

Torres Iríbar indicated not to neglect the production of food and hygiene items and, in the midst of the limitations that will remain for some time, to organize and control their distribution well, protect vulnerable people and avoid drug dealing.

Likewise, he referred to the transport situation, the need to save electricity in the midst of a complex situation in energy generation and the housing problem. In this last aspect, he added, even in the midst of strong material limitations, the housing program will be maintained, a solution will be provided through different ways for people who live in buildings in danger of collapse and in vulnerable areas due to floods, as well as the neighborhood transformation program, with the construction of buildings, the adaptation of premises, something that is being carried out in the municipalities.

As he said, the transformation of the neighborhoods raises the spirituality of the people, the functioning of the delegates of the People’s Power, social work, problems are raised, as a step towards their solution. “We have to keep doing it,” emphasized Torres Iríbar.
