The Guadalquivir International Piano Festival will experience its most surprising edition starting on September 30 in Córdoba

The most magical edition of the Guadalquivir International Piano Festival, the unrepeatable and extraordinary event, brings to Córdoba the September 30 to October 9 the distant echoes of the East. Thus, the FIP Guadalquivir “Travels” travel, dreams, passion, history, spirituality and culture, united by music and piano, transporting Córdoba to the Silk Road.

With this, they are already 13 editions and more than 15,000 spectators those who have discovered, in an unparalleled environment, a classical music festival that, from the highest quality, is committed to modernizing how this art is created and transmitted to the world. The magic of the FIP Guadalquivir, organized by the Guadalquivir Pianístico Cultural Association, is the music, creativity and skill of international artists who each year fill Córdoba with art in capital letters and emotions, with extraordinary experiences in incomparable spaces.



The quality of the FIP Guadalquivir speaks for the fact that, in the last edition, tickets were exhausted in less than an hour and which has been chosen by top-level artists and ensembles such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, with violinist and conductor Mario Hossen at the helm, Leslie Howard, Rosa Torres-Pardo, Pasión Vega, Andrea Bacchetti, Luis Fernando Pérez or Juan Pérez Floristán.

After two long years of the pandemic, we all wanted to go out, to travel, and this year’s proposal has emerged from that ambition, which responds to the vocation of the Festival of open up to the world, to connect the Guadalquivir and promote its leitmotif as a spokesperson for cultures through the piano. And it is that being inspired by the most precious materials that came to our country, in the customs, philosophy and religions of the Far East allow classical music to open new almost “unexplored” prisms, remarks the artistic director of the Festival, María Dolores Gaitán.

The Madrid Symphonic Band, under the direction of Jan Cober, or the 2021 Queen Elizabeth Award winner, Jonathan Fournel, lead an exquisite lineup with top-level artists who will perform in unparalleled venues such as the Mosque-Cathedral, the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos or the Palacio de Viana.

A poster that will complete online master classes, conferences and many more surprises that will put the icing on the cake of a Festival that, like every year, will highlight the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Cordovan capital.

And all this without forgetting its more social aspect, in this case, that of School of Flamenco Our Lady of Mercy of Las Palmeraswhich in this year’s edition has created and recorded exclusively for the FIP Guadalquivir the soundtrack of Transit thanks to the collaboration of the renowned guitarist and school teacher, Baris Yavuz.
