From the Renaissance to the Splendor of Mexico

A little over a month ago my wife and I launched our new book “Del Renacimiento al Esplendor de México”, the sequel to our previous book and movie “Mexican Renaissance”. The new work consists of a compilation of columns, chronicles, articles and essays that we have written over 13 years in different media.

The title of the book corresponds to the way in which the writings are arranged, which as a whole projects a sequential narrative despite not being arranged chronologically, the first chapter is called “Mexican Renaissance” in which we accommodate everything related to the philosophy that supports the affirmation that a human rebirth is arising from Mexico, we locate the change of era that is being lived as it was predicted by the Mayans and that goes much further and lasts much longer than a change of government or arrival of some ideology to power and that era we named it the Mexican renaissance and we describe its characteristics, it should be noted that these postulates have been used in different harangues, proclamations, slogans, speeches or hashtags by candidates for municipal and presidential presidents, congress, governments, companies , movements, among others. We named the last chapter of the book “the splendor of Mexico” and there we put the texts referring to the peoples of Mexico, in which we emphasize that while we waste time discussing trifles we lose sight of the wonderful things that happen in many of our localities and how these are examples of art, technology, culture, spirituality, beauty, good practices, alternative and complementary medicine, etc.

The inaugural event was held at the Pulquería los Insurgentes; the main venue of the counterculture in Mexico City and one of the most important in the country where they claim the bio-cultural value of pulque in Mexican society, the event lasted three days of a huateque, fest & arts in which personalities participated from different corners of our country from different human disciplines: there was music to the sound of Veracruz, Morelos corridos, regué chilango, traditional Rarámuri music, rock wave, art expo of great painters, photographers and muralists, gatherings with activists, leaders in the science, in spiritual practices, in politics, in business, and of course there was also a touch of poetry and calls to action.

Since then we have not stopped, we presented the book in the city of Puebla in the Nekutli mezcalería; a space that wants to show that the best mezcal is made in Puebla and not only in Oaxaca or Guerrero. The Renaissance community of Puebla was present at the event, including scientists, writers, guardians of tradition, politicians, humanists, among others. All with the firm conviction of the majesty that the people of Puebla have to offer to the nation.

Also in that state, but at the top of the Sierra Norte, there was a great cultural day in which, in addition to the presentation of the book, the work of Don Gregorio Méndez Nava was exhibited for the last time, who recently passed away and his family lent the works for the event and then remove it to be able to protect it as requested by Don Goyo before he died. Cuetzalan was recently named Best Tourism Villages by the UNWTO and the people responsible for it met that day and now seek to be a World Heritage Site by UNESCO (fortunately they had the opportunity to make it clear to Rubén Pesci, who collaborates with said organization and gave an appointment to the event).

The activities to raise awareness and spread the message will continue, the next one will be the first children’s cultural summit of Anahuak at the Iyolik facilities in Tepoztlán, Morelos with brilliant children (of geniuses) from different states of the country and in it we will take advantage of the moment to present our new book before the community of Morelos. Thanks to those who have sponsored us with travel expenses, with their facilities, purchasing the book, attending the events and in general to all those who, like us, believe and strive to achieve the splendid destiny of Mexico.
