Alborosie & Shengen Clan in concert at the Padua Hall



Alborosie returns live to Padua together with the Shengen Clan: the appointment is set for December 3rd at the Hall. The tour will then continue on December 10th at the Estragon in Bologna, on the 11th at the Hiroshima Mon Amour in Turin and on the 16th at the Live Music Club of Trezzo sull’Adda (MI) on the occasion of the charity event Reggae ‘n’ Fra. Alborosie was born in 1977 in Marsala, Sicily, and a mix of Sicilian-Calabrian-Apulian blood flows in his veins. As a boy he moved to northern Italy in Milan and later in Bergamo where he began his musical career with i Reggae National Ticketswith which he sold about 200,000 copies in seven years of activity and participated in the Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica.


After the experience with the RNT group, he decided to embark on a journey to discover the roots of reggae music and rastafari culture and in 2001 he moved permanently to Jamaica. Thanks to the relationship of trust with the producer and record producer Jon Baker (former member of the Island Records label that launched Bob Marley all over the world) he began collaborating with the GeeJam Studios recording studios in Port Antonio. After a few years he founded his own independent label Forward Recordings, a recording studio in Kingston and achieved great success, not only in Jamaica, with singles such as “Herbalist” and above all Kingston Town.


His first solo album, “Soul Pirate”comes out in September 2008 for Forward Recordings.
In 2009 Alborosie returns to Italy and Europe alongside the “Shang Yeng Clan” to present his new album with Greensleeves Records “Escape from Babylon”due out in June and featuring the likes of Dennis Brown and Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage.


In 2011 his third album was released for VP Records “2 Times Revolution” which is a huge success all over the world. In September of the same year, he was nominated for the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards in the category “Best Reggae Act 2011” to then win it, arriving in front of world-famous artists such as Nas, Damian Marley, Mavado, Khago and becoming the first white artist to win an award dedicated to Black music.


On February 10, 2013, it had its world premiere during the Berlin Film Festival “Journey To Jah”a documentary film starring Alborosie and Gentleman, made by directors Noël Dernesch and Moritz Springer: an autobiographical journey in search of their identity and spirituality in the land of reggae and rasta culture: Jamaica.

In 2013 goes out “Sound the System” for the VP Records label, a roots album that will lead Alborosie to a very long world tour.


2016 is the year of “Freedom & Fyah” which boasts within it collaborations of excellence including the stars of reggae Protoje And Ky-Mani Marley and new entries like Sandy Smith And sauce.
The same year, a few months later, another impressive project sees Alborosie as record producer, “The Rockers”, with Jovanotti, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Fedez & Sandy Smith, Elisa and Nina Zilli, 99 Posse, Africa Unite, Sud Sound System, Boomdabash, Vacca, Caparezza and Après La Classe.


In 2018 it comes out “Unbreakable” together with the legendary Bob Marley band “The Wailers” and in 2021 his latest work “For The Culture”. In 2020, exactly on June 26, he collaborates with the rapper Gué Pequeno in the latter’s album Mr. Fini in the track “Dem Fake”, third collaboration in an Italian rap song after the success of 2011 in “Legalize the Premier” by Caparezza (gold record) and in 2007 in the album “Bugiardo” by Fabri Fibra.
