Dominique Thorne Talks Her Ironheart Solo Series

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever closes the chapter on MCU Phase 4 on the big screen. The phase was all about introducing new characters and the final film gave us some major contenders for the next one. Avengers: Secret Wars. One of them is Riri Williams aka Ironheart, who effortlessly played the MCU newcomer, Dominique Thorne. The character was the focal point of the conflict between two kingdoms, with Talokan chasing her and Wakanda protecting her. Now his story will continue with his standalone Disney+ series, Stone heart. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Thorne says fans can expect to see another side to the character.

Speaking about Riri’s character arc, the actor warned fans to remember that “Riri that we see in Wakanda Forever is a Riri under duress.” Given that she was royalty and was the primary cause of the war between the two kingdoms, Thorne explains, “She’s in this super heightened situation. And she’s…I wouldn’t say she’s shutting herself up, but acting like someone would act when they know they’re responsible for causing a war between nations.” She continued: “But someone would act when they just got kidnapped in the middle of their day when they were planning to go to differential equations class in 15 minutes. In wakanda forever, Riri is presented as a fun, brave but responsible teenager, Thorne explained that this means that in these heightened situations, Riri “does her best to respect royalty, to know her role as the person who caused all this pain” .

In the next series, we will see Riri in her element of genius in her daily life. Thorne believes long-form fans will be able to see another side of her, “Just by the nature of being able to spend more time with her on the show, we get to see her at neutral rather than, like, on 10 every time. She continued:

“And also, we get to see her in her element, which is literally the opposite of what we saw of her in Wakanda Forever. We will have more time to see what the other colors are and to see how she leads her. life, rather than how it is when life leads it.”
