It’s a weekend to bite into. Literally. In fact, there are numerous appointments dedicated to Apulian goodness and autumn flavors. Among grapes, bread and chestnuts, trekking and festivals for all tastes.
Grape festival
The Adelfia Grape Festival turns 91, which this year will take place on 15 and 16 October in the Montrone district. An annual appointment that celebrates the typical product and promotes local producers. The grapes protagonists of these celebrations are the Pizzutella variety and the Regina. The celebrations are associated, as every year, with a technical conference held by agronomists and experts in the sector aimed at agricultural producers and a competition called “Grappolo d’oro” in which the best bunch of grapes produced in the countryside of Adelfia is awarded, judged according to characteristics and standards defined by expert technicians.
There will also be the delivery of the “Beloved land of mine” plaque to the longest-lived agricultural producer and / or deserving of commendation for particular professional and personal merits. Two days full of initiatives, with free admission, and guests including “La Zanzarita Band” with a tribute to Renzo Arbore and the Italian Orchestra on October 15th, as well as Neri per Caso on October 16th. The talk is entitled, in fact, “The image of war – How photography tells about conflicts” and will feature two of the best-known international war photojournalists: Spaniard Manu Brabo, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography in 2013 for his coverage of the civil war in Syria and the Iranian-French Manoocher Deghati, winner and juror of the World Press Photo Contest and of the Pulitzer Prize for photography, who has always been active in giving voice, through photographic art, to the most dramatic moments of recent Iranian history. Cycle walk through the ravines
Cycle walk Between the Palagianello and Castellaneta ravines.
