A unmissable event for the city of Reggio Calabria with the company “Ludovica Rambelli Theater” from Naples who will stage the next 29 July to the Aragonese castle the show “Converting a Horse“With i tableaux vivants of the works of the great Baroque painter Caravaggio.
The show built with the tableaux vivants technique it is a work of extreme simplicity and set of big impact emotional: under the eyes of the spectators they will be composed 23 canvases by Caravaggio made with the bodies of the actors and the help of everyday objects and draped fabrics.
A single cut of light will illuminate the scene as if framed in an imaginary frame in which the artist’s works will materialize, rhythmically accompanied by the music of Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, Sibelius.
The show born in 2006, thanks to the intuition and sensitivity of Ludovica Rambellidirector of the Malatheatre Theater Companyin recent years it has been represented around Italy and abroad in museums, galleries, squares, sacrati, always preserving its suggestion, and its magic for an audience so much more attentive and complicit, when not warned of the epiphany of a simple, rigorous, artisanal job.
The event is promoted by the Cultural Art and Entertainment Association “Calabria behind the scenes – APS”As part of the“ Teatro dell’Anima. The ways of Art, the ways of the Spirit “funded by8 per thousand of the Waldensian churchin partnership with the Municipality of Reggio Calabria.
The cultural project will be carried out in the coming months in various municipalities of the Calabria Region (Cassano All’Ionio, Guardia Piemontese, Reggio Calabria, Bova Marina, Sant’Alessio) and provides for the realization of artistic and cultural activities within religious buildings, cultural sites, schools and social centers in the involved territories.
The art section will be addressed to the production and construction of tableaux vivantsscenic representations, where pictorial art and theatrical art overlap to generate a mystical and sensorial experience.
The show of living paintings will be created and staged by a group of Calabrian actors from BA17 Company, who will engage in this innovative experience for the Calabrian theatrical sector. The works of art represented will be drawn from the pictorial masterpieces of great Italian artists and Calabrian artists (Mattia Preti, Nunzio Bava, Annunziato Vitrioli, Gaele Govelli, Domenico Oranges) who have wisely narrated scenes of spirituality over the millennia starting from the analysis of sacred texts. To the original production of the tableaux vivants Calabresi will join the scheduled event of the national company Ludovica Rambelli Theater which will give greater prominence to the artistic proposal of the project.
On the educational level and social, in order to stimulate the creativity and sensitivity of young people, artistic workshops are planned for students of the “Preti-Frangipane” Art School, project partner; and as a tool for involvement and social insertion, the workshops will also be addressed to young immigrants present in the reception structures managed by the Coopisa Association.
Furthermorea specific research and dissemination activity is envisaged that aims to promote the Calabrian artistic and cultural heritage through seminars and meetings in partnership with the Department of Humanities of the University of Calabria.
