Departure, therefore, on Saturday 3 December, the date chosen by all the Municipalities involved, for the switching on of the lights and for the beginning of the actual celebrations. The streets and squares of Romagna will light up, as per tradition, immersing the public in the typical Christmas atmosphere. The solutions adopted are geared towards better management and optimization of consumption, with a view to significantly reducing waste.

Each territory will have light shows and words that will tell the soul of the places: Dante in Ravenna, Casadei in Gatteo, Tonino Guerra in Pennabilli, enchanted lights in the Riccione proposal, 4D projections in Cervia to involve young and old.

The Magic of Christmas, dedicated to the joy of children

The Magic of Christmas is spread throughout the territory, from the coast to the hinterland.

In Riccione it is “The winter forest”, with architectures of light, sets, artistic and botanical installations designed and created to transform the urban space of the center into what is also the Christmas of the Centenary. Viale Ceccarini becomes a string of light arches wrapped in a blanket of green woodland. To complete the “Winter Wood” there is “The garden on the sea” and here, every weekend the children will be involved in playful activities, Christmas-themed workshops, animated readings, music and projections of Christmas stories.

Sant’Agata Feltria is transformed, as usual, into the town of Christmas from 4 December. Visitors walking through the streets and squares can listen to the sweet and characteristic sound of the bagpipes and admire the enchanting handcrafted nativity scenes widely displayed and the artistic dioramas of the author, part of the “A Riveder le Stelle” itinerary. The “House of Santa Claus” is set up in the market square, not far from which there is the home of the “Elves”. Right here the children experience their magical moment, and waiting to see the most desired dreams come true, they they approach amazed to deliver the letter to Santa’s “secretary”, who, always present, is ready to listen and welcome their wishes.

In Cesenatico, during the holiday period, you can admire the traditional Marineria Nativity scene. Set up on the boats of the Floating Section of the Museum of the same name, in the oldest section of the Canal Port, on ten boats that represent the traditional types of the sea, with the characteristic decorations and “eyes” on the prow.

The appointment with Ravenna in Luce is not to be missed, a journey of visits and amazement to admire extraordinary luminous creations, the result of the visionary mind of video mapping artists. From 17 December to 8 January architectural video projections will cover the Basilica of San Francesco with light, an iconic place linked to the history and memory of the city.

New Year’s euphoria in squares and places of culture
