Last concert of the year for the Camerata Musicale Sulmonese conducted by Maestro Gaetano di Bacco. To warm up Christmas come the Gospels, the most typical expression of spirituality of American communities. On Monday 26 December, at 5.30 pm at the Teatro Comunale “M.Caniglia”, the appointment is with Vincent Bohanan & The Sound of Victory, the American group that arrives in Sulmona from the Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, before Umbria Jazz Winter where one of the central moments of the Festival on January 1st. The Christmas Concert at the Caniglia Theater will also be an opportunity to respond to the appeal of the UN representative in Nicaragua, Nazario Esposito (native of Sulmona), in order to support the musical culture dissemination program promoted by the local government. As already happened last season with the concert in favor of Ukraine, solidarity has taken off and the main musical institutions of the Peligno area, the Sulmonese Camerata Musicale, the “Maria Caniglia” International Prize for Opera Singing and the Popular Music School Association of Sulmona are spokespersons of the newborn Project Bridge of 7 notes between Abruzzo and Nicaragua” which will be able to materialize and grow with the involvement of the Conservatories of Abruzzo, through cultural exchanges with teachers and scholarships for Nicaraguan students, and naturally with the fundamental involvement of the Region. In Italy a collaboration was already active with some cities: Rome, Municipalities of Modena and Tuscany and Institutions such as the Puccini Festival. But after Nazario Esposito’s appeal, Abruzzo got underway and the first response for Christmas arrived from Sulmona immediately: Camerata Musicale and Scuola Popolare di Musica promoted a fundraiser at the end of the Gospel concert on 26 December. The proceeds will go towards the purchase of musical instruments for young Nicaraguans. The evening will be attended by authorities, institutional representatives and local associations, entrepreneurs. Her presence has already been confirmed by the Ambassador of Nicaragua in Italy, Monica Robelo, who said she was available to meet the representatives of the regional institutions. Meanwhile, the anticipation for the concert of Vincent Bohanan, a talented New York artist, who boasts collaborations with the best Gospel artists of the American scene so as to build, over a decade, a musical personality as polychrome as it is unmistakable, developing his credentials in a long list of successes. To embellish his live sets is his magnificent choir the Sound of Victory of New York composed of 30 elements. Founded in 2014 by Bohanan with the aim of “spreading the triumphant Gospel of Jesus Christ through music”, The Sound of Victory Choir is one of the most active and renowned choirs on the US gospel scene, made up of excellent artists from the metropolitan area New Yorker between Brooklyn and the Bronx. His third single, “We Win: The Kingdom Declaration” was number one on Billboard’s Single’s Chart in 2017 and, in 2018, The Sound of Victory Fellowship Choir was nominated for two Stellar Awards. The first Live EP, 2019’s “Road to 5” earned three more nominations at the Stellar Awards. The album “Live in Chicago” is from last year. Their repertoire offers a gospel strongly influenced by Afro-American sounds, rhytm & blues and soul that immerse the audience in a unique atmosphere that combines spirituality and rhythm, religious sentiment and joie de vivre.
