From the hands of Raï, a racy player in the past, Sadio Mané receives the “Socratès” trophy, a living Brazilian legend of world football in the Eighties. Nearly two billion viewers and Internet users watch the scene and follow the Ballon d’Or event. The Prize awarded to him magnifies his exceptional qualities, his social work, his charitable work and his great spirit of solidarity towards others.

That evening, the football party took on a form of authenticity with the outfit worn by the same Sadio Mané. Moreover, as soon as he entered the cozy atmosphere of the Théâtre Chatelet, he aroused curiosity with his very pretty attire, a sort of improved version of the famous costume called “the Obasanjo” in homage to the former and atypical Nigerian president. Without stealing the limelight, he imposed his style which seduced more than one, especially in Brazil, country of Pelé, Garrincha, Djalma Santos, Zico and an unforgettable doctor… Socrates.

In turn, Sadio made a name for himself in football. After goals then titles and trophies, here he is scoring points in another register: the sharing of the gain, a redistribution of the resource, conquered with hard work by the sweat of his brow. This suffering on the lawns and in the stadiums is put to the service of a cause that he personifies: the attachment to the land and the improvement of the ordinary people through gestures of great generosity.

From a distance, others, impressed by his humility and his innate sense of proportion, appreciate the depth of his anchorage which amuses him, strengthens him and stimulates him. To the din and the urban tumult, he prefers the silence of the countryside where time stretches out with a natural subjugation. By his talent, he imposes himself and as he gains notoriety, this one reflects on Bambali, his native village thus emerged from anonymity thanks to his prodigal son with elegant prodigality.

Brilliant on the pitch, Sadio wants to be simple in life which nevertheless smiled at him with the splits. The touch of madness does not inhabit him unlike other renowned sportsmen who have consumed themselves (desires and desires) without restraint. The same today inspire pity if not concealed contempt.

Unlike his predecessors, the African champion does not like trips. Furies and fantasies are markers of this faceless era. Sporting circles adore gilded panelling, silver flesh and good flesh, cars, travel and sails. A sanitized world where everything flows freely. In truth, the Leo dreams rather of greatness. Sadio displays a posture of modesty in the face of the challenges he takes up, one after the other, with astonishing fullness.

Maybe that’s his secret. Undoubtedly very buried in himself! Does he actually manage to get people on board? The clamors of approval echo her lifestyle, healthy and composed. Designers, designers, designers and craftsmen hold in Sadio Mané (and others like him) a vector of progress, a VRP of the Senegalese label. His state of purity shines through in his freshness as a high-level athlete, which he owes, among other things, to his permanent quest for a spirituality back home.

But beware: Sadio the Nianthio would only be so if the upstream work is done with the required seriousness, the required punctuality, the expected finish like the twirling winger from Bayern Munich who neither cheats nor balks at the task.

The occasion is suitable for a review of our conception of progress. The well-being of all would come from the real will of each one. Commodity design, to return to the clothing worn on the evening of the Ballon d’Or ceremony, always fond of audacity and originality, seizes trends and fantasies to magnify creations. Wherever they come from!

Precisely, Sadio Mané landed in the vehicle of these works to the delight of their authors. It is up to them to confirm and be ready to satisfy the market in the event of large orders. Dressing with taste, voluptuousness and ostentation is becoming a fashion without ceasing to be a way of life or even a life, to put it simply.

On the other hand, the finished products are only dreaming if they meet the requirements of high quality and an identical reproduction of the designed items. Being content with just about-almost is hardly viable. But in our country, approximations are a very Senegalese failing. The informal has killed precision and conciseness to the point of disrupting a sector populated by craftsmen keen on ingenuity.

If, to demand care and tact, the State had, upstream, organized and cleaned up the sectors, the Senegalese label would have pulverized records of orders and sales. The expertise of our craftsmen is highly sought after. Evidenced by the successes achieved in the fairs, exhibitions and trade weeks that are held throughout the years and in which they take part with brilliance.

In this regard, the Chambers of Trades are undeniable sources of this creativity. More and more actors are opening up to modernity without however breaking with the “forces of truth” that our traditions conceal.

Senegal produces gold in the east. But paradox: the country does not have counters for the sale of the gold extracted from our basements. To obtain supplies, craftsmen import from India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Switzerland and Israel. Oriental gold floods our goldsmiths while our raw gold production is exported to markets that love it. He is certified in Lausanne, Antwerp, London, Toronto. But not in Dakar. A peak!

Isn’t it time to reverse the trend? Failing to claim to become a high place of world jewelry, Senegal could still require the manufacture of yellow metal on the spot in order to set the rules of the “merchant game” with the advantage of increasing income, diversifying professions and purification techniques with a view to codifying the finished or semi-finished product.

The action to be taken must be on the side of public opinion which demands the erection of counters as an “act of resistance” and of sovereignty in the face of the dominant option of exporting everything. This choice is eminently political. It is justified by an economic logic which must now prevail: having a perfect mastery of the gold circuit and identifying the dividends that must necessarily remain with us. Such a reorganization is necessary in fact.

Because, behind the attractive and bombastic strategies of the gold mining companies, hide misdeeds and the inexplicable indifference to the fate of the populations and the environment, outraged from one side to the other… The appalling poverty of the region of Kédougou must shake our consciences despite the richness of its arable land and subsoil.
