Vicchio: “Hot Fair” is coming, 5 days of celebration and 100 appointments
From August 31st with the “Cattle Fair” to September 4th
100 events will animate Vicchio for 5 days, from 31 August to 4 September, when the “Fiera Calda” will take place. An event that is a showcase but also an opportunity for aggregation and socializing. Its origins, dating back 200 years ago, are rooted in the history and tradition of Vicenza, of the Mugello area. Preparations are underway for an edition that, after the stop imposed by the pandemic and the difficulties linked to the restrictions of the immediately following period, the municipal administration hopes will be “awakening and restarting”.
As always, the “Cattle Fair” at the Ponte a Vicchio meadow will open, which will go on for the whole day of August 31st with stands of cattle, sheep and pig breeding, horses, vintage agricultural vehicles, demonstrations, equestrian games . And, an unmissable attraction, from 7 pm you can get up in flight on a hot air balloon to admire the beauty of the Vicchiese and Mugello landscape.
From the following day until 4 September it will be “Fiera Calda” in the streets and squares of Vicenza.
Thus Piazza della Vittoria will turn into a large “Farm” with livestock, agricultural producers and workshops. A few steps away, the “Aia” with the spaces of the wineries and the “Granaio” with the modern antiques market. If Piazza Giotto, in the historic center, will be used for concerts and restaurants, Corso del Popolo will host markets, artisans from the Scuola Diffusa and hobbyists while in Piazzetta Dante you can attend “Artists on show”, book presentations and meetings with the possibility of sip a drink at the set up point bar. In piazzetta dei Buoni and in via Cellini you will find food trucks and vintage markets respectively, while in piazzetta di Levante there will be dancing and other catering outlets. The Parco della Remembranza will be an open-air theater for shows and concerts.
There are numerous events that will mark the days of this edition of the “Hot Fair” organized by the Municipality and the Pro Loco with the patronage of the Tuscany Region, the Metropolitan City of Florence, the Union of Municipalities of Mugello and the support of various sponsors. Among these: “Mercato in Fiera”, review and tasting of local wines with piano accompaniment “Note di vino”, agri-aperitif at Km0, “Viola talk” with the participation of Giancarlo Antognoni, Luciano Chiarugi, Claudio Merlo, Moreno Roggi , the participation of Massimo Cirri and Sara Gambotti of “Carterpillar” Rai Radio 2 who will follow the March in Barbiana, a meeting within the “Festival of Spirituality” with the presence among others of Father Guidalberto Bormolini, excursions at sunset and excursions by mountain bike, theatrical performances, DJ sets, concerts by Gianluca de Rubertis, Eugenio Campagna aka Comete, Aquarama, Manitoba, Maurizio Carucci (Ex Otago), Marco Tosi Jazz Trio (as part of the “Museum in Music”) . And again, craft workshops for children and adults at “Casa Cellini” by the “Scuola Diffusa”, workshops and various activities by Coldiretti, Asd Opplà, Gruppo Agricolo and many others; the flash mob and the space of Indaco, “Vicchio Incontra” with presentations of books and cultural meetings, art exhibitions, exhibition of vintage cars and motorbikes and wasps. Closing with the inevitable fireworks on Sunday at midnight at Lake Montelleri.
