The pro Campedelli event
Let’s take a step back. It was last July. In the square about 600 people and a banner, Act according to conscience, freedom and justice. The square supported Campedelli, to whom the Curia had communicated the suspension from teaching the Catholic religion. All after Campedelli had criticized the letter in which Zenti, before the run-off to the municipal councils, invited reflection through a disputed passage on gender ideology, read as an assist to the center-right candidatethat outgoing mayor Federico Sboarina beaten at the end by Damiano Tommasi. Resigned on 7 March at the age of 75, Zenti had tried to disprove that political interpretation of the letter, but without appeasing those discontent of which Don Campedelli, albeit without ever coming out publicly, was a strong voice. In Piazza dei Signori, at the protest demonstration against the suspension of Don Campedelli, there was also the lawyer Guariente Guarienti, a former Maffeiano, who referred to the next arrival of Pompili saying: a Bergogliano and I expect that in September the students of Don Campedelli will get their professor back….
Greetings from the bishop

Since then – it was July 2 – no news. The news of Don Campedelli’s suspension was given by the online site Adista.it, close to social Catholicism. It is on Adista.it that Don Campedelli will shortly start keeping a fortnightly column. And Adista.it, in taking up the fresh news of Don Campedelli’s reinstatement, explained in an article that there would be a dialogue between the parties, yes, but with Don Campedelli to reaffirm his own vision of a secular Church. and adult and, if anything, the bishop to become aware of a citizen clamor – and not only that – which rejected a self-referential style of ecclesial government. Meanwhile, the aforementioned Network of Medium Students writes that the return of Don Campedelli is good news not only for Maffei but for the city, which has shown to support the teacher by taking his side: we are convinced that free and critical teaching is fundamental for a democratic school.
