This project saves marriages by the hand of the Virgin Mary

The Conjugal Love Project, which proposes living a path of spirituality in marriage, landed in Argentina, where it held retreats in Mendoza and Buenos Aires.

With a recognized trajectory “saving marriages”, the Project, which emerged in 2016 in Spain at the hands of José Luis Gadea and Magüi Gálvez, offered in Argentina the retreats “The truth of marriage” and “The joy of love”, which attracted great concurrence.

The founding experience of this association of the faithful is that of José Luis and Magüi, who from 2002 to 2016 began a journey of spirituality and formation.

The initiative is aimed at both married couples with many years of experience and the most “new” and even engaged couples who seek to “take seriously” the stage.

seeds abroad

Rubén and Laura are from Mendoza and have been married for 31 years. At a certain point, they discovered that the distance between them was increasing and little by little, they were “destroying the marriage,” Laura told ACI Prensa.

Despite their attempts, the wound “only healed on the outside”, and they proposed to do activities together. Of all the proposals, the only one that persevered was the daily rosary, advice they had received from a priest.

One day, reading a Catholic newspaper, Laura found a testimony titled: “Marriage about to separate, saved by the Virgin”. The story, in which the Virgin “rescues them and calls them to accompany others”, shook them. It was the story of Magüi and José Luis.

After seeing it, they searched for more information about the Conjugal Love Project, and began to read the daily Gospel together, with a commentary in a conjugal key, something that, Laura acknowledged, “we had never seen before.”

“After several days praying together with the Word, our hearts were transformed,” admitted the woman from Mendoza. “The Word of God questions, falls in love, restores, gives life,” she affirmed.

“When we began this path of conjugal prayer, we let Jesus be in our midst again and make all things new.”

After participating in a virtual meeting convened by the Spanish, in which they were able to “laugh, cry, share and discover God’s love and mercy”, they sent an email to the founders of Proyecto Amor Conjugal.

The link led to the proposal to start a group in Mendoza. “María’s love and what she had done in our marriage was so great,” Laura recalled, “it was an automatic yes from the heart.”

Conjugal Love in Mendoza

In Mendoza, the project began with a virtual modality, in the midst of the pandemic, with connections from Spain and assisted by the Hermanas Obreras Catechistas de Jesús Sacramentado, a congregation that longed to be able to serve families and “the Virgin sent them the Conjugal Love Project ”.

Since its inception, the project in Mendoza also has the full knowledge of a priest. Simultaneously, and due to the concern of other couples, the road also began in Buenos Aires.

“We learned that our Mother wanted to stay in Argentina and from here accompany and rescue spouses and families.”

“We feel welcomed as a great family, full of God’s love, where Mary reigns. For us it has been a wealth of grace and enormous blessings”, acknowledged Laura.

A project of love for all

The Mendoza clarified that the Project is not only for marriages in crisis, or “disarmed”, but also “for those who walk and realize that they did not know the truth of marriage as God intended.”

For Rubén and Laura, it was “starting to heal from the roots”. In this season of Advent, he encouraged to keep in mind that “God wanted to be born into a family.”

In marriages, Laura maintained, “there is a precious pearl to discover, which has no limits”, and reaching it is a “beautiful challenge”.

“It is not a road for the broken, but for everyone, and through the spouses it reaches the children, the grandchildren: everything else comes in addition.”

After the retreats in Mendoza and Buenos Aires, “we all left restored and amazed at all that the Lord wants to do for his children,” Laura said, and encouraged couples to give themselves the opportunity “to experience them and discover the love of God without limits.

Regarding the future of the Project, he recognized that there is “a great demand and an immense need for couples to find their way and for accompaniment.”

“Our Mother is tracing the path and we just follow it,” he said. “We invite everyone who is willing to live marriage as God intended and discover the precious pearl,” she concluded.
