Immerse yourself in the magic, music and suggestions of Christmas thanks to the availability of many artists who have come together to say “thank you” to healthcare personnel and to support cancer research. The tenor Antonio Cervato, from Pordenone by birth, Paduan by adoption, has decided to make a “special” gift to the Istituto Oncologico Veneto, and to the citizens, gathering around him musician friends: he was born this way “The Search for Christmas” the concert to be held on Saturday 3 December at 21 in the Church of Santa Maria dei Servi in Padua (entrance from via Roma). The evening, animated by thirteen artists and fifty choristers, will allow you to enter the Christmas spirit by supporting doctors and researchers in the daily challenge to enhance research and improve treatments: the entire proceeds of the event, with free admission with donation, will be donated to the IOV.

“I have dedicated my life to music. I graduated in opera singing at the age of 23 and after two years I obtained the qualification to teach music in middle and high schools: since then – says Antonio Cervato – I have always studied and worked hard to continue perfecting myself as a singer and teacher . I came into contact with the reality of the IOV in November 2021 following a serious oncological pathology of a genetic type involving a loved one: it is useless to explain the shock and pain one feels when faced with these harsh trials that life confronts us”.

«Contact with illness, with the fear of death and its anguish, is difficult to explain, but it is something – reflects the tenor – that reawakens the most primordial part of each of us which, even in an irrational and mysterious way, brings us closer to our most intimate spirituality, to the timid but urgent desire to give voice and sacredness to the purest feelings and emotions of the human soul. This concert wants to be a thank you to the doctors who accompany the suffering of the sick with professionalism and humanity, but also an attempt to touch with the art of music that sensitive and impalpable land made of contradictions, tragedies and joys where destinies are consumed every day of all men”.

And he continues: «I would like to thank, one by one, my musician friends Marina Nardo, Sara Pegoraro, Stavros Mantis, Chiara Parrini, Enrico Bertolotti, Francesco Piovan, Massimo Ferrucci, Simone Candiotto, Fabiano Maniero, Lorenzo Carniello, Nicola Rampazzo. Without their art, their generosity and availability I could not have organized anything. Thanks also to the choristers of the Coro Cpia Padova and the Musical Chapel of the Blessed Virgin directed by Maestro Nicola Rampazzo who have all joined together for a single purpose: to raise funds and help cancer research. And of course thanks to the IOV, to the General Manager Dr. Patrizia Benini, who generously trusted me in giving life to this event, and to the IOV Communication & Marketing Office which followed me in all the smallest organizational needs, allowing the realization of this event.

«We are grateful for this wonderful Christmas present, which we share with all citizens. For us at the IOV – underlines the general manager Benini – it is wonderful to see how so many artists, spurred on by the tenor Cervato, have decided to donate their time to share our cause, concretely supporting research, sensitizing the population to participate in the “Search for Christmas” through concrete gestures. We make our thanks to our operators and, after some recent news events, we share it with even more enthusiasm and strength. A special thanks goes to Father Cristiano Cavedon, parish vicar of the Church of the Servants, who kindly gave us hospitality».
