The Nuorese Summer 2022 kicks off: traditions, culture, entertainment and art

This morning, during a press conference that took place in the council room of the Municipality of Nuoro, what will be August and September in Nuoro was presented, with a series of initiatives that will see different names of traditional and national music as protagonists. and international, entertainment, art, entertainment, sport and culture to brighten the days and evenings of the Nuorese and tourists who have decided to stay or visit the city.

Next to the mayor Andrea Soddu, there are the councilor for Culture, Luigi Crisponi, the councilor for Sport, Fabrizio Beccu, the councilor for Productive Activities, Eleonora Angheleddu and the councilor for Youth Policies, Fausta Moroni. Also present in the room Marco Zoppi, representing the Foundation of Sardinia, Giovanni Carroni and Monica Corimbi of Bocheteatro, Angelo Palmas, president of the Nuoro Music Institute, Marco Moledda representing the TEN Teatro Eliseo, the representatives of the Nugoresas Association and part of the majority directors.

The mayor, in presenting the calendar, did not hide his enthusiasm: «This is the year of recovery, of recovery. After the break caused by Covid we all find ourselves in company. The Festa del Redentore and the collateral events send a signal to restart the city of Nuoro. A riot of spirituality, identity, colors, popular music and dances, with the hope that Nuoro, through these events, will rediscover itself alive and respond with interest ».

“This is a program designed for every age group, for resident citizens and for all those who, numerous, will join us from outside to experience our city” – comments the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Luigi Crisponi. “We have tried to enhance our identity and cultural heritage, giving a tourist impulse and working in synergy with the various associations and city bodies for a cultural and entertainment offer aimed at beauty and quality”.

“For me it is a pleasure to be here and to have in front of Nuorese excellences in the cultural and artistic field – underlined Marco Zoppi of the Foundation of Sardinia – from this point of view the Foundation is attentive to this workshop of talents, which must be valued more and more. We carry out memoranda of understanding with the Municipalities to support cultural activities and finance projects that have become a fixed appointment in the Sardinian calendar, such as the Feast of the Redeemer ».

It starts on 22 August with the XXIV Nuoro Jazz International Festival, which ends on 31; it continues with the international seminars of the music organization so far more than five thousand students from all over the world have participated. While on August 29, at 9.30 pm, at TEN Eliseo there will be the concert “Alice canta Battiato” by the Intermezzo association. A lineup of 19 tracks, starting from the beginning of the collaboration between the two artists, up to the last tour of 2016 ‘Battiato and Alice’.

So much tradition with the evenings that will take place in Piazza del Rosario, both at 9.30 pm, on August 24th improvised poetry will be the protagonist, while on August 25th the evening of guitar songs will take place. From Saturday 27 to Monday 29 August, the events of the 122nd Festa del Redentore will take place: starting with the parade of traditional masks to be held on Saturday at 7 pm, followed by traditional dances in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. The highlight will be Sunday 28, at 10, with the usual and expected parade of groups in costume, followed by knights and the solemn blessing given by the Bishop of Nuoro, Monsignor Antonio Mura. The day will end at 8 pm, with the regional Folklore Festival, which will take place in the “Frogheri” stadium. Finally, on Monday 29 August, at 6 am, the religious pilgrimage will start from the Cathedral to Mount Ortobene and to follow the solemn celebration of the Holy Mass with the accompaniment of the Nuoro choirs and the procession. And again DANTZAS, organized by the Nugoresas Association, with the VI edition of the Festival of traditional dances and music of Europe which will take place on Friday 2 September in the park of Sant’Onofrio.

A- Another great event will take place on 9 September in collaboration with Istentales Concerti, with a series of traveling shows, tastings – between Corso Garibaldi and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele – and the final concert of the Modena City Ramblers. “The legacy of the pandemic continues to be heavy on the retail trade front – underlines the councilor for productive activities, Eleonora Angheleddu – the evening of entertainment, music, shows and animation that will take place on 9 September was conceived as an event in the name of recovery, it wants to be a recognition for all those companies that with determination and courage have decided not to give up. An event designed for all citizens, who want to experience the city, its beauties and the productive activities of the center of Nuoro on the weekend at the end of the summer ».

I – For children and families there will be PATAPUM, curated by Bocheteatro, with previews until 24 August and the actual Festival from 30 August to 2 September. For the older ones, on the other hand, three evenings of music have been planned in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele: it starts on Wednesday 14 September with the DJs of the 105 Zoo and local DJs; Friday 23 September the Trap and Hip Hop music evening will take place with the artists Tredici Pietro or Thelonious B, and local artists (Michael S, Domunos, Dahel, Blezma, Erre, Diego100k, Skema, YoungP, Bark, Herr, Negative, JayP , Juba, Herr) and finally on Saturday 24 September the Band Nuoro Swing Pioneers will perform. “It was only right that within the calendar of events in the Nuoro summer there would also be initiatives dedicated to children – affirms the councilor for youth policies Fausta Moroni – there will be three shows designed for children, with nationally renowned DJs and artists accompanied by young local artists and obviously the important partnership with Bocheteatro that this year will give magic and amazement to our children with the Patapum Festival, which every year is enriched with new fantastic proposals ». Space for fun and color with the Holi Colors and the foam party, which will be held on August 26 at 7 pm, in the square of the church of San Giovanni Battista, organized by the San Giovanni 2023 Committee.

– In addition to the offer proposed by all our museums and art spaces in the city, from 24 August the Nuoro people will find “The steps of the boys in love” in the streets of the historic center, the new artistic and literary installations by Elio Moncelsi. We will meet up with our noses upwards, on Sunday 4 September at 8 pm, in the park of Tanca Manna with the astronomical show “Men, gods and the Universe” by the Nuorese Astronomical Association.

“We have not neglected sporting events – explains the councilor for Sport Fabrizio Beccu – we are very pleased to be able to present what will be sporting events full of opportunities, fun and entertainment for fans of handball and football”. From 24 to 28 August the “IV CITTÀ DEL REDENTORE international tournament” will be held in the multipurpose gym by the Handball Athletic Club. Space also for football with the III memorial by Roberto Dore, by Polisportiva Puri e Forti, which it will take place on 10 and 11 September and from 16 to 18 September, in the field of Solitude. Finally, an appointment for all horse racing enthusiasts, Sunday 11 September, in the municipal gallop of Prato Sardo, with the super palio of the Sardinian Anglo-Arab.
