How are the reactions since the release of the album Rumble Of Thunder in September?

The feedback is very positive from our fans. The first album we did was The Gereg and this time with Rumble Of Thunder we wanted to show that we could do just as good, if not better. We’ve heard a lot of people say to us, ‘this song is awesome’ or ‘that other song is really good’, and that makes us feel good. It is really a pleasure for us to hear these things.

You have already done quite a few collaborations in the past, such as those with Jacoby Shaddix (of Papa Roach) and From Ashes To New. Do you want to do more in the future?

All the featurings we have done in the past have been successful. We see it as a way to transform our songs, to make them different, more interesting. So yes, of course we have plans for more features in the future, but for now we can’t say more. We want this to remain a surprise for all our fans!

With your incredible mix of Metal and traditional music, you have spread your culture around the world, and you have been rewarded for it by UNESCO – today. How does that feel to you? Are you proud of this accomplishment?

We are very happy about it, it is an incredible experience for us. It is something honorable. We make music to share our love for nature, our environment and, of course, our love for each other. [en tant qu’êtres humains]. All of these things came together at some point, and that’s how we ended up receiving this UNESCO award. To receive this award and to partner with UNESCO for the future, being a voice of the organization, is truly amazing.

Do you think folk metal like yours can have an impact on raising awareness of environmental issues and spirituality?

All of these things are deeply rooted in us and in our music. We’ve kind of implanted an underlying message in all of our work. It’s about loving your surroundings, nature itself, and we have that track on our new album Rumble Of Thunder, which is called Mother Nature. So, yeah, we wanted to make a clear statement that we should love our mother nature the same way we love our real mothers. It’s really important to us, and we have to get on with it. This is the message that we absolutely want to convey.

About Tetralens

This interview was conducted by Tetralens, who is also the owner of all the photos you have seen above.

Tetralens is a photographer based in Paris. If you want to chat with her about her work and/or collaborate with her, you will find all her information below!

TETRAlens brings together all the expressions of my photographic work, recent or dating back several years. I mainly present an extract of my captures of live concerts, mainly from the Metal scene and Rock, as well as a small overview of my other photographic subjects, such as landscapes, details and architecture. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to capture through my lens what my eyes wanted to immortalize: the sharpness of a light, the strength of a moment, the softness of a gaze, the energy of a moment, those things that make the world more beautiful. From a very young age, this passion has followed me in my daily life or in my travels, my eyes constantly looking at nature, cities and people as a source of inspiration to nourish my artistic expression. The most emblematic channel being live music, the events through which the human is a vector of the most positive vibrations.
