Piancogno (Brescia) – It was staged there traditional convivial best wishes for the members and guests of the Panathlon Club from Camonica Valley. Before dinner, professionally prepared at zero km from Walter Letarhis staff at the Miravalle Restaurant, the members and friends of the Club met at the Church of the Sanctuary of the Annunciata in Piancogno (Brescia) for a Mass in memory of the deceased members which was followed by a visit to the artistic jewel, cultural and spiritual of the Annunciata.
In the large hall of the Miravalle Restaurant the president Ottavio Bonino presented the lineup for the evening, which includes the entry of two new members and the delivery of prizes panathlon 2022. The institutional part of the Conviviale was preceded by a speech by Professor Innocente Agostini (technician of dozens of athletes of Vallecamonica Athletics), author of a book on the Agostini family in Vallecamonica: “UIt is my duty to tell the story of the Agostini for the events that my predecessors lived through over the past few decades. It’s a memoir that took me a bit of effort but I see people like it and it’s been well received’.
The President Bono he then introduced the presentation of the new members giving the floor to the honorary president Roberto Gheza which he presented Ausilio Priuli, internationally known as a renowned archaeologist, but also sportingly, president of the La Rosa Camuna Skating company which promotes roller skating in the area with training courses and organization of events at a national level. The new member thanked the Club for having welcomed him, declared his utmost commitment to bring some young people to the convivials to contribute to the growth of the Club itself. Instead it was the shareholder Andrea Pizio a present to the Club Gianpaolo Carrara, protagonist in cross-country skiing, cycling and athletics but lately a promoter of roller skiing in particular, with the organization of events in this sport, also bringing the national team to Borno. The new shareholder thanked himself by declaring himself I’m honored to join Panathlon, I will try to make my contribution by sharing Panathlon’s values and objectives. In particular, I was impressed by a recent evening organized in Val di Scalve with the Polisportiva Disabili Valcamonica and this prompted me to enter Panathlon as well’. On behalf of the new members, the secretary Marco Ballardini then read the Panathlete charter.

First awarded for sports promotion Constant Bontempi (in the center of the photo), president of Motoclub Sebino Camunopresented by the partner Orietta Zeziola; Bontempi has always been committed, in terms of Fair play, in the organization of international events as well as participation in world and European tenders.
This is the motivation for the award to Costante Bontempi: “President of the Moto Club Sebino, Master of off-road motorcycle sport, a history that has lasted for half a century studded with national and international competitive and organizational records and successes, united in Values to his Group in the right competition, friendship and passion”.
Second prize winner for sporting merit the athlete of the Polisportiva Disabled Valcamonica Joseph Romele, only Paralympic medalist in Vallecamonica with the bronze in cross-country skiing at the Beijing 2022 Paralympics. Romele was presented by coach and partner Angelo Martinoli who highlighted the characteristics and results of the athlete from Pisogne and, inspired by the tragic death of Davide Rebellin, launched an appeal to Panathlon to promote an intervention in favor of cyclists and handbike athletes who risk their lives every day on Italian roads.
The motivation of the award to Giuseppe Romele “Paralympic bronze in Beijing 2022, an example of tenacity, passion and courage, with the hope of achieving other great successes in life and in sport”.
Third award of the evening, Panathlon Award 2022 for sporting activities,Vallecamonica Athletics, historic athletics club founded by Aldo Giovanelli, and today presided over by his son and Panathlon partner Giuseppe. President Bonino recalled that Athletica Vallecamonica celebrates 40 years of activity, 52 Italian titles, the organization of numerous competitions and events, among which the organization in upper Valle Camonica of the World Mountain Running Championship in September 2012 stands out; sporting events that have enhanced our territory and the commitment of hundreds of young athletes have made the club chaired by Giovanelli a flagship of sport in Vallecamonica.
The motivation of the 2022 Panathlon Award to the Vallecamonica Athletics club was this: ‘Sports Association Camunian pride in various athletics specialties with distant roots linked to the “Youth Games”, an inclusive reality for forty years in our area, which unites and unites young people where the first victory is to participate with seriousness, strength , will and dedication, to be athletes in life and in sport”.
The President of Vallecamonica Athletics, Giuseppe Giovanelli was moved and thanked.
The convivial greetings then concluded with the delivery to the president Gigliola Frassa of the traditional contribution to Polisportiva Disabled Valcamonica; the delivery to members and guests of a small but precious present made by the Arché Cooperative and a gift from the Biogei Company of the partner Giovanelli. Finally, some institutional communications from President Ottavio Bonino followed: “RI renew to all members, to their families and loved ones, to guests, my most cordial wishes for a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, remembering that in the 2023 marks the 35th anniversary of our Club which, in January, will be called to the Assembly which will elect, as per the Statute, the new future president of the Club for the two-year period 2024/2025, who will take office from 1 February 2022″.
