Some manifestations of the XIX Festival of sacred music will take place in the suggestive Cloister of Sant’Agostino in Cortona

CORTONA (Ar) – Appointment with sacred music in Cortona as a message of peace in the world. The “Pacem in terris” Festival, promoted byCortona Cristiana Association with the participation of artists from all over Italy. The 2022 edition has been “renamed” with the title of historic encyclical of Pope John XXIII of 1963 as an invocation to build peace.

“A title that we had already thought of at the beginning of this year, then the precipitate of the war in Ukraine further strengthened us in remembering the encyclical of Pope John which today appears extremely topical”. So they expressed themselves Walter Ceccarelli And Marcello Bronzetti (president and vice president of Cortona Cristiana) at the press conference to present the festival together with the mayor of Cortona Luciano Meoni. “This event, now in its 19th edition, is one of the classic summer events in Cortona – said Meoni – which adds artistic value to our city, which has always been a destination for religious tourism as well”.
