Panorama celebrates 60 years: great success for the inauguration of the tribute exhibition

Rome, 21 Dec. – Panorama, the newsmagazine directed by Maurizio Belpietro and part of the SEI SpA publishing group, turns 60 and celebrates the anniversary with the publication of a special issue of the Panorama Collection and a photographic exhibition entitled Panorama is…, inaugurated with great success at the Teatro Manzoni of Milan.

The evening was attended by institutions, journalism and business leaders: among others, Mario Giordano, Gianluigi Nuzzi, Alessandro Giuli, Ernesto Mauri, Peter Gomez, Giuseppe De Bellis, Sebastiano Lombardi, Chiara Imperiali, Sebastiano Barisoni were present , Jean Luc Berlot, Leonardo Manera, Giorgio Restelli, Franco Bechis, Alessia Lautone, Alessandro Giuli, Valeria Falcioni, Francesca Pietra and Antonella Matarrese.


The exhibition curated by Nicolas Ballario, which can be visited until 28 December in the foyer of the Teatro Manzoni, is dedicated to the story of the last six decades through the most important covers of Panorama and hosts a tribute to newsagents, a fundamental link in the publishing chain, told through images of reports made by Fabrizio Spucches.

The exhibition represents the final stage of a journey that began in June to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the magazine that changed the way of reporting on Italy, the Italians and the world. Sixty years of current events marked by a few keywords: Courage, Sex, Challenge, Anger, Power, Innovation, Discipline, Transgression, Taste, Spirituality, Tradition. Concepts that are the cornerstone of Panorama’s editorial adventure, through which the last few decades have been narrated.


The exhibition also pays homage to an often silent or unspoken figure, but essential in the publishing chain: the newsagent. Through the irreverent eye of photographer Fabrizio Spucches, Panorama immortalizes the resisting newsstands of Milan, a fundamental part of safeguarding information.

The Panorama 60 years project is an initiative which, at the behest of the director Maurizio Belpietro, has taken shape in the last six months through an editorial process which has been divided into various stages.


From June to November, six specials in downup format were produced in the weekly, each dedicated to a decade, in which the events that changed the history of Italy and the world were retraced. Finally, in December, the story took shape with the fourth edition of the Panorama Collection specials and with the inauguration of the photographic exhibition Panorama è…
