In the Puel Lafken Mapu, where the Chubut lewfü flows, pu lonko, pu kimche, pu pillankushe, pu werken, pu kona, pu peñi, pu lamgen lafkenche from Rawson, Trelew, Madryn, Comodoro Rivadavia, Sierra Grande and Carmen de Patagones we met in trawn. We see the importance of respecting and accompanying our authorities, being Mapuche is a way of life both in the countryside and in the city, it is not a fashion. We feel the need to return to our old practices: meeting face to face, conversing, saying, exchanging and taking actions to achieve the liberation of our machi, pu lamngen ka pichikeche.
In our present, the Argentine National State continues with the same terrorist practices of the last civic-military dictatorship and the misnamed “desert campaign.” We see that the material and intellectual assassins of Rafael Nawel have not yet been sentenced, and this suggests that there is no justice for our people. These state actions and their repressive forces have had serious consequences for health, and for Mapuche Tehuelche spirituality. We know that these actions, racist and colonial, are an attempt to teach. With the aim of generating fear, about what can happen every time the right to recover the territory is exercised. We demand that they stop persecuting and criminalizing pukona who are protecting the territory of Lafken Winkul Mapu. We are concerned for Pichikeche, who are unfairly imprisoned, far from the territory and deprived of their freedom, who went through traumatic situations of great violence; the State has not given them any type of containment, thus violating all their rights as children.
In most situations in which citizens occupy land to obtain a place (whether it is the right to housing), and they are accused of usurping it, only one violation is generated, which is a releaseable offence. But for the Mapuhe Tehuelche people, the greatest possible repression has been deployed, imprisoning an ancestral authority. Its intention is clear, the State knows the damage that this generates for our people, none of this is coincidence. We know that the winka is afraid of the process of uprising of our people and their ancestral authorities, of the autonomy that was created, and we affirm that it is a process that is not going to stop.
