► Taizé Community

In Saône-et-Loire, in the town of Taizé, for more than seventy years, thousands of young people have been meeting and leaving transformed by their encounter with other retreatants and with Christ. They are Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox or in search, and come to pray together on this hill in Burgundy. The young people, between 15 and 29 years old, feel at home, and they share everything for nearly a week, the ideal length of time to embark on the adventure of meeting: the space, the dishes, the services, the exchanges, prayer, joy…

Some weeks, adults and families are also welcomed. An isolated house accommodates young people who wish to spend the week in silence. The living conditions are very simple, to refocus on the essentials. The unfolding of the days is punctuated by the teachings and the times of discussion introduced by brothers of the community, the times of sharing around the Bible and the prayer of the community, simple but beautiful.
