Las Rozas says goodbye to the year with a great preuvas party, a tribute to Mecano, San Silvestre and the Orfeón Donostiarra

The “Christmas shines in Las Rozas” program has prepared a great party for this last weekend of the year to celebrate the farewell to 2022, which will begin on Friday the 30th at 11:30 a.m., with pre-emptions included. Grapes and party favors will be distributed and there will be entertainment and lots of fun for all the residents who come to enjoy the event, which will reach its peak at the stroke of 12 noon and which will continue with the awards ceremony for the Christmas decoration contests. at 12:30 p.m. and with a tribute concert to Mecano at 1 p.m. in the Plaza de España.

Also on Friday, the Joaquín Rodrigo Auditorium will receive the Orfeón Donostiarra for its 125th anniversary. With an unparalleled career, he has performed solo and accompanying the most famous conductors and orchestras in the world, with a splendid repertoire and extraordinary international prestige. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m.

New Years Gala

And to begin 2023, the New Year’s Gala will be held, a classic event with a program of works full of spirituality and joy that link traditional Russian music with the magic of Viennese salons, with a nod to Spanish music. Polkas, waltzes and other dances will delight the public. With the

participation, as in previous years, of the students of the Municipal Schools of Dance and Music. The New Year’s Gala will be held on Monday, January 2 at 8:00 p.m. in the Joaquín Rodrigo Auditorium.

Saint Silvestre of Las Rozas

As is traditional, on the last day of the year, Las Rozas will celebrate its San Silvestre, a race that reaches its eleventh edition, for which the bib numbers have sold out and in which 3,000 runners will participate. The San Silvestre consists of several tests. The first, the 10 kilometer race, which will begin at 10 am, and a few minutes later the 5 kilometer race will start. Both will start and finish at the Fairgrounds. At that same time the Family March will begin, a non-competitive test of about 5 kilometers to enjoy in a group.

Those registered, who will receive a commemorative shirt of the event, will be able to collect their numbers and chips in the hall of the Navalcarbón sports center throughout today until 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow Friday the 30th until 6:00 p.m. All registered runners upon reaching the finish line will be presented with refreshments, and in the case of the first three classified in each category will receive a trophy.

Christmas for the little ones

The other activities of “Christmas shines in Las Rozas” continue. In the Multipurpose Center there is the Christmas House, a Bethlehem, workshops and inflatables. In addition, the Christmas Train continues its journey between two stops, one located in the vicinity of Calle Real and the other next to the Multipurpose Center, visiting some of the landmarks of Roceña Christmas, as well as bringing its visitors closer to between two of the points where the activities are concentrated. And in the Centro Multiusos car park you can also enjoy the Alpha Circus circus show until January 15, with daily performances at 6:00 p.m. (except December 31 and January 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12 ). Another of the great attractions this Christmas are the Carousel and the Ice Rink on Real Street and the other great Ice Rink on Camilo José Cela Street, as well as a large snow slide. In Las Matas you can visit the Enchanted Forest, in the 1º de Mayo park, where the videomapping “La estrella de la Navidad” is also located.

In addition, the little ones can get the missing pieces of the Christmas puzzle, which are found in the different locations of the activities of the “Christmas shines in Las Rozas” program. The puzzle consists of four pieces and represents the Christmas Star that the children from Roca reconstruct in the story that has been distributed in all the houses of the municipality. Thus, the pieces are in the Primero de Mayo Park, in the Multipurpose Center, in the Christmas Train (Avenida de los Toreros) and in the Ice Rink on Camilo José Cela street.

The “1 kilo = 1 book” campaign continues in municipal libraries, an action that aims to collect non-perishable food to donate to Cáritas, and for each kilo a book will be delivered to people who come to collaborate with this initiative. which will be running until January 4 in the three libraries.

Two hours of free parking

To make it easier for all the residents to get to the area they prefer and enjoy the local commerce and hospitality, the public company Las Rozas Innova has launched the initiative to make the first two hours free in all municipal car parks.
