‘How to learn to age’, central theme of the conference on health, spirituality, well

They will be held from December 19 to 21, at 7:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of the Region of Murcia.

The Murcia City Council, at the request of the Department of the Elderly, Housing and Social Services, participates in the development of a conference focused on how to prepare for aging, promoted by the Institute for Research on Aging of the University of Murcia.

It is a series of conferences that will take place from December 19 to 21, at 7:00 p.m., in the auditorium of the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of the Region of Murcia, located in Plaza Preciosa s/ no.

December 19: ‘Physical, mental and spiritual health’

Specifically, on Monday, December 19, the Mayor’s Councilor, Paqui Pérez, will present, together with the director of the University Institute for Research on Aging of the UMU, María Trinidad Herrero Ezquerro, the first of the presentations on ‘Can we prevent the aging? A conference that will be given by the emeritus professor of Geriatrics at the Complutense University of Madrid and a member of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain, José Manuel Ribera Casado; and another on ‘Ageing and Spirituality’ that will be offered by Jenni Spannari, a researcher in Social Gerontology at the University of Helsinki and the University of Eastern Finland and coordinator of the Aging Doctorate program of the European Sociological Association. It will be moderated by the tenured professor of Sociology at the UMU and secretary of the PhD program on Aging and Frailty, Marcos Alonso Bote Díaz; and the director of the University Institute for Research on Aging of the UMU, María Trinidad Herrero Ezquerro.

December 20th: Perimenopause: skin and gynecological aspects, osteoporosis, sarcopenia and sleep’

For its part, on Tuesday, December 20, the second of the conferences will take place, under the title ‘Perimenopause: skin, gynecological aspects, osteoporosis, sarcopenia and sleep’, which will be given by the president of the Murcian Society of Dermatology and Venerology of the Quirón de Murcia, Eugenia Cutillas Marco; the gynecologist and sexologist specializing in genital dysbiosis from Elche, Juani Lafaja Mazuecos; the specialist in Family and Community Medicine, María D. Medina Abellán; and the head of the Clinical Neurophysiology section of the Reina Sofía and Morales Meseguer hospitals, Virginia Izura Azanza. This presentation will be moderated by José Jesús Guillén Pérez, General Director of Public Health and Addictions of the Health Department of the Region of Murcia, José Jesús Guillén Pérez, and by the director of the University Institute for Research on Aging of the UMU, María Trinidad Blacksmith Ezquerro.

December 21: ‘Silver Economy: The Value of Platinum Consumers’

On Wednesday, December 21, the theme of the presentation will focus on the ‘Silver Economy: the value of platinum consumers’. It will be given by the professor at the European University of Madrid and CEO and founder of the Senior Economy Forum and CEO of Atenzia, Benigno Lacort Peña, who will speak on ‘Aging as an opportunity for science, innovation and industry’; the president of the Murcian Federation of Associations of Housewives, Consumers and Users (Thader Consumption), Juana Pérez Martínez, who will speak on ‘The value of older consumers’; and the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Pedro Manuel Moreno Fernández, who will be present via zoom from Geneva to talk about ‘Aging and development’. They will be moderated by the Councilor for the Elderly, Paqui Pérez; and the director of the University Institute for Research on Aging of the UMU, María Trinidad Herrero Ezquerro.

These research conferences on how to prepare for aging, without pause, from birth are organized by the Institute for Research on Aging of the University of Murcia, the Department of the Elderly, Housing and Social Services of the Murcia City Council, the Department of Health and the Department of General of Women and Gender Diversity of the Region of Murcia, the Murcian Institute for Biomedical Research (IMIB) – Pascual Parrilla, and the Royal Academy of Medicine and Surgery of the Region of Murcia.
