Luco dei Marsi – Great music, nature, beauty and sharing are the elements that will be the leitmotif today, 2 August, of the day of the Pardon of Assisi in Luco dei Marsi.
Special guest of one of the most historically felt events in the town, the musical association “La Scala di Seta” which will bring, in the magnificent natural setting of the area between the convent and the forest, “Sogno d’Amore”, an extraordinary selection of harmonies that will accompany the participants on an “Ideal walk” among the bright or sentimental arias of Italian melodrama, the most lovable melodies of operetta and chamber music, up to the timeless Neapolitan song and the tribute to the music of Maestro Morricone and to the Italian song . The concert, scheduled for 9.30 pm, represents the third appointment of the “Itinerant sounds along Antiche Mura” festival, now in its 9th edition, and avails itself of the contribution of the Carispaq Foundation.
The protagonists and exceptional interpreters of the immortal compositions by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Poulenc, Gastaldon, Tosti, Di Capua and others, will be the soprano Bianca d’Amore – fresh from the successes of the Alps and already artistic director of a recent highly applauded concert in the heart of the Fucense center – Nunzio Fazzini, tenor, and Tiziana Perna, piano, ready to enchant the audience with the fine weaving of a great concert, which promises to give full emotions and mark a new memorable page in the history of “Perdùni” from Lucca. A tradition revitalized, for some years now, by the work of the municipal administration which, respecting the spirit of the Day and the places, proposes, for the day of August 2, special initiatives able to combine spirituality, music, art and discovery, or rediscovery, of the natural and historical-architectural heritage of the area. In the center of Marsicano this day represented, for a long time, a highly anticipated appointment, with spirituality – and in particular with the special celebrations in the sixteenth-century church of San Sebastiano – but also of socializing and leisure, for groups and entire family groups, in full immersion in the luxuriant nature that characterizes the area of the “Selva dei Frati” and the Capuchin convent, now redeveloped and home to the socio-cultural service center of the town. The square outside the convent will host a refreshment point from 4.30 pm, and the structure will be open to visits from the same time. Visitors will be able to access the forest from the external staircase or directly from the gates of the convent, and will also have at their disposal, for a pleasant stop, the equipped and shaded square overlooking the woods. “This initiative is part of the work started in recent years, aimed at the revitalization of our collective historical memory but also at the enhancement of structures, places, resources and traditions, in a current key”, explains the mayor Marivera De Rosa, “We the possibility of making today’s day a regenerating time, in which to find space for a moment of quiet, sharing, beauty in the forest area, and crown the day with the great music of extraordinary artists, who will certainly offer an evening of enchantment .
