Saturday 22 October in Miasino at Villa Nigra from 4 to 6.30 pm the inauguration of the Grand Tour of Lake Orta, the new hiking, cultural and food and wine route that embraces the entire lake and its area, promoted bySportway association and the Ecomuseum of Lake Orta and Mottarone to discover “at a slow pace” nature, history and artistic treasures around the most romantic stretch of water in Italy.
After a series of events in the area that accompanied the positioning of the trail signs and information boards of the five stages of the route, the completion of the works will be celebrated with the public appointment “GTLO. Lake Orta as you have never imagined it “. The meeting will be divided into two parts.
In the first part of the meeting – opened and moderated by the route seeker and photographer Riccardo Carnovalini – the beauties and peculiarities of Lake Orta and Cusio will be talked about, which inspired the idea of giving life to a journey to slowly discover the territory. Nature, history, spirituality, art, sport and tourism on and around the lake will be told by exceptional interlocutors: Vittoria Poggio, the Tourism Councilor of the Piedmont Region, Andrea Del Duca, director of the Ecomuseum, Francesca Giordano, president of the Sacri Monti, Andrea Giacomini, president of the Cavaliere Alberto Giacomini Foundation, Pietro Volta of the CNR-IRSA, the world rowing champion Stefano Basalini and Oreste Primatesta, president of the Tourist Union of Lake Orta.
In the second part – moderated by Gianni De Bernardi, president of the Ecomuseo del Lago d’Orta, and by Alex Chichi, of the Sportway association – the new path of the Grand Tour of Lake Orta will be presented: history, project, results and the network of partner born in the area that allowed its realization, led by the main sponsors of the 5 stages VA Albertoni, Fantini Rubinetti, Cimberio, Palzola, Canottieri and by the Cavaliere Alberto Giacomini Foundation, which supports the GTLO in the role of “guardian of the Grand Tour of the Lago d’Orta “, taking action at a transversal level in terms of promotion, communication and enhancement over time. The next steps of the project will also be presented, to make the journey live and promote a new slow tourism on the shores of Lake Orta. an aperitif with local products.
