Giovanni Caccamo protagonist of the 5th Concert of the dawn in Polignano a Mare



The emotion and the suggestion of the first light of the day will close the show “FramMentiD’ARTE” Saturday 27th August at 5 with an exceptional protagonist: the singer Giovanni Caccamo in the concert Fragments of Light. Appointment therefore for the fifth edition of the Concert of dawn, organized in the garden by the sea of ​​the Pino Pascali Museum by the Musicad’InCanto Davide Gaetano D’Accolti APS Association in collaboration with the Mother Church of Polignano a Mare. Author and quality music, in an embrace between the arts in memory of Davide Gaetano D’Accolti, 23 year old from Bari, student of electronic engineering and of the Bari Conservatory, who was the victim of a car accident in 2016. A young man who loved art and whose family, with a view to donating what has been lost, with this initiative aims to bring the new generations closer to a valuable cultural offer.




The concert


Giovanni Caccamo, one of the songwriters most appreciated by the Italian public, was discovered by Franco Battiato. He is known for having won the 2015 Sanremo Festival among the new proposals with the song Ritornerò da te, of which he is the author, and for having reached third place at the 2016 Sanremo Festival in the Big category with the song Via da qui , sung together with Deborah Iurato. In the Polignano event, reflections that start from biblical passages lead the public to meditate on the miracle of life that is renewed. The voice and the piano of the Sicilian artist capable of recounting everyday themes with delicate and sensitive attention are linked to the + 39 Ensemble, composed by violinists Francesco Lamanna and Pietro Cicolecchia, Antonio Taranto (guitars), Francesco Galizia (accordionist), Francesco M. Sette (percussion) to which are added collaborations such as Claudia Lamanna (harp) and Hsueh-JuWu (double bass), Angelo Giodice (clarinet). All classically trained musicians, excellences of national music who in this concert start from the shared theme of dawn creating a human symbiosis. The varied repertoire, ranging from jazz to pop, even if Caccamo, will start from his latest work “Parola” to cross the other LP “Eterno”, without forgetting the mystical references of his mentor Battiato. The group that represents a unicum in the national musical panorama, will present a program in which its own sensitivity will move the soul by involving the public in an original and not easily replicable concert. A moment that is aimed at everyone, believers and non-believers, who want to deal with the mystery of life and the universe. The performances will also be embellished by an elegant sound and timbre research. At the end of the concert, the parish priest of the Chiesa Matrice, Don Gaetano Luca, will develop brief reflections with those present, stimulating reflections on the meaning of life, on a spirituality present in the universe.




Objectives of the Association


Between the beauty of the place and that of the music, participation in the event will be a real enchantment while waiting for the sun to rise under the banner of the Association’s proposal which would like to maintain the prerogative of offering quality art moments, in particular to all those who, especially in moments of vacation, for various reasons, seem excluded from public and private attention. In fact, the ambition is to extend this approach by combining cultural and tourist promotion with solidarity also in terms of prestigious artistic collaborations, such as the one, currently being defined, with the Capri Opera Festival Association, an independent body that manages the homonymous festival since 2007.




Last appointment


Fragments of light is the last appointment of the FramMenti D’Arte event after the performance on August 13 of Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini with the Pugliese Philharmonic Orchestra and the international direction of Vincenzo Grisostomi Travaglini and the inaugural concert on July 18, Fragments of the moonwhich saw verses and music dialogue.


The event Fragments of Light it is free to enter, with the patronage of the Municipality of Polignano Mare and the Puglia Region through Puglia Promotion. It also makes use of the collaboration of the Pino Pascali Museum Foundation and the support of BPER Banca SpA


As every year, spectators can attend the concert bringing with them mats or towels, free to move in respect of the silent spectacle of the rebirth of a new day. For special needs, 200 chairs will be made available, with the possibility of booking.
