Giorgio Piccaia presents in Lesa at the Ex Società Operaia the exhibition entitled “Being a Person, Being Nature” with a site specific installation entitled “La Spirale”.
Lesa – Giorgio Piccaia presents to Lesa at theFormer Workers’ Society the exhibition entitled “Being a Person, Being Nature”With an installation site specific by title “The Spiral“. An installation with oils and sculptures, curated by Stefania Salvatore and with the critical contribution of Pietro Ernesto Malgarini. With the patronage of the Municipality of Lesa.
We will celebrate art and also Giorgio Piccaia who on that day, August 5, celebrates his birthday.
The hall is used as a scenario where the visitor physically travels among the works of the Agrate Conturbia artistwhere the numbers of the sequence, the myosotis, the compass, and the cardinal points orient and confuse.
The exhibition “Being a Person, Being Nature”
Luca Bonamayor of Lesa: “Our Municipality is honored to host this site specific project by the international artist Giorgio Piccaia, the hall of the Ex Società Operaia is a highly symbolic place. There are two site specific installations currently on show by the Geneva artist, one in Venice at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose and the other in Lesa and this makes us really happy, two cities of water that host the works of Piccaia. Installations to reflect on the relationship between man and nature“.
Giorgio Piccaia: “This exhibition is my homage to human nature, I treated the space by the lake as a scenario where, through the numbers of the Fibonacci Sequence, we relate to spirituality and nature. Everything revolves around La Spirale, a spiral that is maze and nautilus. A spiral to enter and exit our fears, an initiatory spiral to relate to the Supreme Being, where the beginning of the exhibition brings us back to the humility and incompleteness of life. The four scrolls and large canvases mirror it and wrap it all around“.
Stefania Salvatorecurator of the exhibition: “The spiral is reflected in the large canvases placed on the walls that express the illusion. The beauty of the illusion of the canvases recalls the sense of our being in harmony with nature, the golden section underlies this harmony“.
Pietro Ernesto Malgarini: “The aquarium ”(2018, acrylic on canvas) – here is the metaphor for a sky, which reaches out to infinity. Also the unraveling of a vision of the world that recalls the earthly paradise, is a blue that goes beyond our universe. It is a blue from another universe, from thousands of other, infinite universes“.
