The Federation of Religious Educational Associations of Argentina held on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June, at the San José Marist School in the city of Mendoza, the National Educational Pastoral Days. With the presence of some 200 people who gathered from all over the country, the Faera directive commission, chaired by Father Ernesto Herrmann Sch.P, began the activities under a fragment of the Gospel of John: “Be one in us to that the world believes” (Jn, 17,20).

Likewise, Father Herrmann offered a few words of welcome to those present and expressed that “Faera has an identity built by the member Congregations and Associations. Faera is a project imagined and worked from the congregations and institutes of consecrated life in Argentina”, also stating that “we want to consolidate this identity, convinced that we have a particular contribution to education in general and to confessional education in particular”.

In this eighth edition, pastoral agents from different cities in the country gathered to listen to David Brandán who spoke on how to rekindle the commitment to the new generations by renewing the passion for educating based on the proposals made in the Global Educational Pact from the perspective of school. Then, José Luis Gerlero, a graduate in Social Sciences with an orientation in Education, offered some clues to place spirituality as the vital center of the human condition.

In the afternoon of the same Friday, in addition, the participants attended different workshops that took place until the end of the day. With six different proposals, they attended two training spaces of their choice.

Saturday began with the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by the auxiliary bishop of Mendoza, Monsignor Marcelo Fabián Mazzitelli, who in his message highlighted the importance of unity and valued Faera’s contributions in the province of Mendoza.

After the celebration, the participants had the opportunity to listen to José Luis D’Amico, director of the Nuestra Señora de Sion Biblical Center, who made contributions based on various topics such as “Unity in some testimonies of the early Church” and ” The origin and development of the Church and the written testimonies and its history”. The sessions also included spaces for publishers and proposals from different companies that wish to collaborate with education in Argentina.

Finally, the members of Faera especially thanked those who worked in the organization, the members of the delegation from the province of Mendoza “for their time and dedication in preparing and being in every detail and the educational community of the Marista San José school for the infinite generosity with which they received these days”.

In addition, they extended their thanks to the speakers and workshop participants “for such a warm and professional preparation of the content they offered” and to all the people who participated “with so much predisposition, joy and who lived every minute of this new meeting that tries to listen to voices committed to the faith and education of every point of our country.”+
