These are photographic, pictorial and sculptural works, an iconographic and emotional narration dedicated toHumanitas, through which the visual artist represents what concerns thehuman being immersed in his own condition, his own ingenuity, his own culture and expression, in the surprising possibility of improving himself, always at the crossroads between choices and selfish renunciations. In the room ofEmbrace of San Rocco – informs the diocese – a series of photos and paintings made by Paola Lo Sciuto show the emotional dimension ofhuman being between the unconscious and what can be brought to awareness through the central way of the heart. They are representations of horizontal woodland landscapes in relation to a vertical dimension of sinking intodark unconscious. Upstairs you can admire the works dedicated to identity and belonging in the form of stone clothes and photographs of affective objects which as archetypes are the trace of memory and add qualities and characteristics to the human. In the exhibition spaces on the third floor, the works dedicated tosoul, that part of thehuman who, through experiences, evolves to have theopportunity to become aware of oneself and others. To discover the space of the cave, a place of transformation, the intimate and interior forge, the hearth into which the lead in gold ”, the victory over our darkest parts. In the corridor-gallery suspended in the void towards the liberation from the conditioning ofHumanitas the paintings representing the intimate weaknesses expressed by what the Church calls are exhibited the seven deadly sins”. And finally, allexterior, where you can see the roofs of the historic center of Trapani, llast space of the path is the Socratic place of the γνῶϑι σεαυτόν (Gnothi seautòn), from the Greek you know yourself. A space where you can meet and rediscover yourself aware and ready to do good, far from the weapons of mass distraction. “The exhibition of the artist Paola Lo Sciuto – declares Msgr. Liborio Palmeri, director of the Diocesan Museum of Contemporary Art San Rocco – further enriches the artistic and cultural offer of our museum which already hosts the exhibitions of Jano Sicura, Marco Nones and Antonio Vacirca. In this case the works occupy the space of the second and third floors, coming to dialogue with the thematic and symbolic path that the museum already offers “. “The basic concept – says the director – is that there is no true spirituality without humanity; and that there isn’t true humanityà that it is not open to self-transcendence and to divine transcendence, in an incessant process of transformation that leads spirit, soul and body to the eschaton of the resurrection ”. The exhibitions can be visited on weekends, from Friday to Sunday from 9 pm to 11 pm.
