“Concerti a Teatro”, Civico and Impavidi share the tenth edition

“Concerts at the Theater”, the classical music festival promoted and organized by the Carispezia Foundation, with the artistic direction of Miren Etxaniz, returns for the tenth edition with nine appointments scheduled from 31 January to 5 May 2023. Six concerts at the Civic Theater of La Spezia and three at the Theater degli Impavidi di Sarzana, for a program characterized by the presence of young musicians of already international fame who, with their freshness and innovation, will work alongside great interpreters of the classical music tradition. This year the program is enriched by the prestigious collaboration with the Carlo Felice Genova Opera Orchestra, which will be the protagonist of two concerts, one in La Spezia and one in Sarzana, included in the Liguria Musica project promoted by the Liguria Region.

“We renew our commitment to promoting the dissemination of culture and classical music in the area. The season, scheduled once again in the theaters of La Spezia and Sarzana, is enriched this year by the precious collaboration with the Opera Carlo Felice of Genoa and will pay particular attention to young people, both by involving brilliant and talented artists and by trying to encourage students to go to the theater “, explained the president of the Foundation, Andrea Corradino. Among the guests expected for the tenth edition are very young musicians who are already leaving important footprints on the international music scene, such as the two brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen, who will open the season in La Spezia with the two-piano performance of one of the monumental pieces such as “Le sacre du printemps” by Stravinskij, and the enfant prodige Alexandra Dovgan, who at only fifteen has already enchanted audiences throughout the world and that, in Sarzana, will perform a program focused on German romanticism. The Vision String Quartet will also be present, the most innovative string quartet of recent years, made up of four brilliant young German musicians, which will range from a classical repertoire to their own compositions with electronic, unpublished and fascinating sounds. The season will also offer, together with the new generation of classical music, charismatic artists of international fame, inspiration and model for young musicians, such as the legendary pianists Mikhail Pletnev and Roberto Cappello, the clarinetist Corrado Giuffredi who will perform together with Leonora Armellini, finalist of the Chopin piano competition in Warsaw. “In this year’s program the intention was to give ample space to the new generation of musicians – artists who are entering the new millennium with freshness and enthusiasm – who, together with charismatic personalities of international importance, such as Pletnev, Cappello and Giuffredi , will offer the public a 360-degree overview of modern-day classical music, ”he added Miren Etxanizartistic director of “Concerti a Teatro”.

The collaboration with the Genoese orchestra, one of the oldest musical institutions in Italy, is part of the Liguria Musica project promoted by the Liguria Region, which is bringing artists and productions, with the direction of the most famous sticks and soloists of high international profile, to resonate in the theaters, in the sites of significant historical and artistic interest and in the most significant places of spirituality in Liguria. The Orchestra will be the protagonist of two concerts: one at the Civic Theater of La Spezia, with the award-winning young harpsichordist and conductor Francesco Corti, and one at the Teatro degli Impavidi in Sarzana under the direction of the legendary Wolfram Christ. “Concerti a Teatro”, finally, will remember the composer from La Spezia Carlo Ciceri who died prematurely in March 2022 with a concert by the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland – for which he had held, among other things, the role of manager of the present Season 900 – who will perform one of his pieces of rare intensity. “The Opera Carlo Felice of Genoa – he concluded Claudio Orazi, Superintendent of the Carlo Felice Theater Foundation – is pleased to collaborate with the prestigious classical music season promoted by the Carispezia Foundation, implementing the new programmatic and artistic lines of the Theater which provide for the widest diffusion of classical music throughout the Liguria Region . A strategic mission strongly desired and shared with the Liguria Region so that the Genovese Opera Foundation can become a heritage of all Ligurians.
