Conca Fiorita in celebration for Saint Teresa of Lisieux

Bergamo. The parish of Santa Teresa di Lisieux – Conca Fiorita district in Bergamo – is preparing to kick off the patronal feasts, which will officially begin with the novena on Thursday 22 September and will continue until 2 October. There are numerous celebrations, starting with the recurrence, Friday 23, of the fourth anniversary of the consecration of the parish church. There will then be moments of prayer and moments of spirituality, centered on the figure of the Saint who, having been proclaimed Doctor of the Church in 1997 by John Paul II, is given to us as a teacher of life and holiness. Significant is the fact that in her monastery she had been made Mistress of novices, a service that she has fulfilled very well, more with example than with words.

Day by day, therefore, he will take inspiration from his life to give stimuli to the Community at the beginning of the new Pastoral Year. The patient itinerary of faith will focus on Santa Teresa, between enthusiasm and interior struggles, as an incitement for the incipient path of catechesis; the discovery – central to her spirituality – of the vocation to be Love in the heart of the Church; the universal orientation of her heart; love for the Word of God, which calls the community to meditate and find time for the Lord. To the sick she will testify the devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus on the cross and the meaning given to the suffering that marked her especially in recent times and led her to death when she was only 24 years old.

In harmony with the Pastoral Plan of the diocese of Bergamo for this year (“We need only one thing”), every day a comparison will be made between the life of the Saint of Lisieux and the friends of Jesus who lived in Bethany, as appears from the Gospels of Luke 10 and John 11-12.

The program includes the celebration of wedding anniversaries on Sunday 25 September. Tuesday 27 at 20.30 a meeting with Don Roberto Trussardi, director of the diocesan Caritas on the theme of the poor and immigrants in Bergamo. On Friday 30, however, again at 8.30 pm, there will be a prayer vigil “Rose petals” in honor of Saint Teresa and her holy parents. On the liturgical day of the Saint, Saturday 1 October, the elderly and the sick are particularly invited to the Holy Mass at 10.30, for whom a healing prayer will be made and the Sacrament of Holy Unction administered. instead foreseen the S. Mass presided by the Bishop Mons.Carlo Mazza, followed by the procession with the statue and the relic of Santa Teresa, starting from the parish church along the streets Pinetti, S. Narno, Angelini, and returning again to the church by Via Pinetti. The Prezzate band will accompany you. The celebrations will end with the Holy Mass on Sunday 2 October, in which there will be the blessing of the children and the mandate will be given to the collaborators of the Parish: in this way the Saint will remind us that life has meaning if we live it as a service to the Church.

The celebrations also include aggregative and convivial initiatives. In fact, every evening, from Friday 23 until Sunday 2, it will be possible to be in the Oratory: from 7 pm for the aperitif and from 7.30 pm for dinner. An accurate restaurant service will be active with delicious menus and rich bingo. For the occasion, all the inhabitants are invited to decorate their homes, especially in the streets affected by the procession on Saturday 2 October.
